Even I know this one is too classy for stickers (st should have bought a 964 cup car !!!)

If you get 5 mins can you re send me “the post” - I’d like to add it to the front of the history file - I know you’ve sent it me before but I’ve lost it frown
Too classy ?? For stickers ?? Have you bumped your head R ? tongue out

Here you go :

"Somnambulant spears of sheer sunlight streak and shriek as an orange orb crests its head above the hazy horizontal horizon of England’s eastern extremes. All at once the light laps upon a coruscating cube shifting at some speed across the flatlands of the uberFens. Manipulate your mind palace to zoom in on this pacey pedalling and your eye will espy that a soul is being stirred here.

The svelte beast that scythes through the green sheet of the corpulent countryside is none other than Stuttgart's latest nubile and stripped out Beetle, and this time around it’s more businesslike than Branson’s briefcase.

When I fired the fob in the twilight, first encounters were with a hunkered down menace, more poised than a porcelain panther with a sturdy stance and sleek surfacing hiding an inside as sensible as an accountant’s aunt, and wheelarches more plumped up than porn star's bra.

The super unleaded ingesting engine ignites in an instant and initial impressions reveal a talented transmission and a clutch as snappy as a shark in Snappy Snaps. A ride guaranteed to keep you on first name terms with your chiropractor just adds to an act as sharp as a scalpel.

Now we get to the only question that matters: How does the latest RS handle a helming? There’s only one way to peel this puppy. So it is that I find myself facing the rapacious rock face of the finest wheelman’s playground the East Midlands can provide, and straight away, the RS bares its soul. When the blacktop starts to buck, the engine talks the torque and the gearshift slides through the gate like an oiled adder on acid. Better yet, the chassis stays classy in the face of firm questioning, keeping as poised as a porcelain panther and delivering a black rubber bear hug to the broken blacktop below.

Entering an especially nuggety complex the nose dives in like an apex-crazed Tom Daley when all at once I back off the gas hammer. In a split second the Soul drops a shoulder and the tail gets waggy. I simply catch it with a dab of oppo and I’m away."

hehe

(Shamelessly plagiarized from Sniff Petrol)

P.S I'll send you the original via email R smile
You’re too modest - post yours - it’s much better smile

What an amazing car R....,many congratulations! I went to the Bicester Sunday Scramble this morning...Porsche parking was a see of Black/Grey/Silver and White with a couple of exceptions...most modern Pork is really quite dull to look at. Your new toy looks absolutely stunning.

Beautiful car. Was that steering wheel an option when new?
Yes - apparently they did 3 types of this wheel - the most expensive being the 3 colour version - I think mines the most basic one - it’s OEM but made by an external company whose name escapes me - sorry.

Judging from the superb condition of your RS it looks like its just rolled off the production line..When i buy any used car i tend to scrutinise the interior as that's where you usually find signs of a previous owner's abuse..The interior of this car looks like brand spanking new..Its quite a remarkable find IMO.
I know it looks incredibly new in the images - just hope it looks like this in the metal smile

Nice, matching ratchet straps Rich !! hehe
Have a safe journey back smile
I think these are the actual seat belts - they cut them out to use as straps - very resourceful smile

You'll be able to ratchet yourself into the seat nice and tight now if you re-fit with them on thumbup
Don’t think I need seat belts - those puppies are a bit snug at the best of times smile

Either you've put a few Kgs on R, or Thomas has swapped the seats for something smaller yikes
I'd say I'm chunkier than you (12 stone 5) , and they fit me like a glove ...
I think they're probably THE most comfortable seats I've experienced in ANY car, let alone a Porsche.
I was only kidding, I’m still super buff (well not really) smile

Oh wow, now that is a thing of beauty.

Closest I ever got to a 964 RS was sitting in a mate of a mate's at a wedding - we were both pissed and started talking cars, he was like, 'i've got the RS here if you want to see?'.

Switching it on and him giving it some revs, I could not believe how loud and raw/un-muffled the engine sounds compared to my previous 964 carrera. Worlds apart!!

Enjoy.
Nice story and thanks smile

many congrats OP, fantastic car! was your car advertised or was it sourced for you?
I’d been talking to TJS for some months about various cars and this one popped up on their Instagram feed as about to come into stock - it was the first car I’d seen (starting looking about 9 months ago) that looked like it ticked all the boxes (I’m very fussy) and as such, it was bought and on a trailer within a week or so. Just lucky timing really smile If you want one I’d start off speaking to Paul McClean at GT Classics - I know he’s sourced lots of these in the past. smile

So , this morning was the first time I got to see & drive car in real life - I’m absolutely over the moon with it - it’s soooo lovely - it’s immaculate and is a hoot to drive, also it sounds absolutely lovely (Has a cup pipe fitted) - I know it’s a cliche, but they really don’t make cars that feel like this anymore - I love it.

Next steps; geo and suspension check/overhaul if necessary & finally registration and then I can take it home smile

That does look like a cracker R, well done and good to hear it sounds like everything you were expecting and maybe more, really suits the yellow.
I assume you have got some stickers on order, and perhaps a name thought up ??
Cheers Sandy, even I know these aren’t supposed to have decals & although it’s never stopped me in the past , I feel this time it would be a step too far.

Name : “Yellow” I guess smile

Picked the car up today and had a fab drive home - it’s much quicker than I thought it would be - the engine is a peach. Suspension / geo needs a minor tweak as it’s not as agile as it should be.

Pretty sure when it’s sorted it’s going to be an epic little thing.

Very happy.

smile
