My 992 C2S Cab is for sale at OPC Bournemouth. 5 months old with just over 2,000 miles. It’s up for £20k less than I paid. It’s perfect and I’d love it to go to a PHer.

Great info on this thread , been reading up all day as have the same Option issues as seemingly everyone else .... Just about to order my First 911 and then suddenly lots of Ex Demo cars come up on Porsche web sites .. I guess not all Ex demo as some with only 50 miles on clock at 5k under list .. From those of u with Porsche experience is this normal or just seasonal ? Very tempted to wait around till Christmas and see if the deals get any better or more accurately the Spec’s of some of the cars available get any nearer to what I was going to order ?? Base 992 in Agate with about 4K of extras at £79,900 . Seems pretty good to me ?
Thanks
It’s not normal in terms of the last five plus years but sales have been slow this year....18 months ago if you walked into an OPC and asked about availability of new cars they might have had a 718 Boxster available. Now I think OPC’s have new stock of any model.

Specific to the 992 there are a lot of cars around for a brand new 911....currently 125 on the AUC site, there will be new cars and used cars over and above that. The good news is that you are buying at the right time of year to get a good deal....end of Q4 is when OPC’s are keener than any other time of year as it’s quarter and year end.

You really need to speak top an OPC from each dealer group to find out what’s around but it’s not a given that if you go to OPC Glasgow who are a Sytner dealer they can get a new car from OPC Mid-Sussex who are also a Sytner dealer. There will be horse trading between OPC’s to swap cars....and sometimes they can’t agree. Different for AUC....and group OPC can sell another one’s stock.

I think this covers most the major dealer groups that own one or more OPC’s Sytner, Porsche GB, Jardine, Stratstone, JCT 600, Dick Lovett, Rybrook

I remember a similar situation 6-9 months after the 991.1 launch where 10% discounts were possible on Carreras. I don’t think it lasted long once supply/demand stabilised and the other models were launched.

I have had two 997s and a 991 with the Bose option fitted. I now have 991 GT3 with the standard system fitted and at the volume I listen at, I have not noticed and loss of quality.

Just looked at it online...lovely looking car. If I wanted a 992 I’d be all over it!

Just seen the Aerokit is now available along with loads more options.

I think you can now spec the perfect daily driver with all the looks of a GT.

Good spot. I see it includes all the elements of the Sport Design pack, so an additional ~1200 quid for the rear wing. Thought it would be more TBH !

Aerokit not very pretty but at least it stops owners cruising around at 10mph with the rear spoiler manually raised (a pet hate and very sad IMHO)

..... and sold.

Such a lovely car, shame it wasn’t my cup of tea, that’s a £20k error for wanting to be an early adopter and not being able to drive one first. Won’t do that again!

If the new owner is on here, I hope you enjoy it, it’s like brand new.

Hi Breadvan

I am looking at a convertible 992 and have had most GT3 and previous convertible GTS so do love these cars. Currently on a 718 spider. I am wondering whether to get a standard non-S as I also have a small engine 718 and have blatted about that (and done lot's of touring) and wondered whether I do not need power but just keep the engine fizzing more? Was also thinking of PCCBs to make the helm a little better and ... I like yellow!
What was it you didn't like as it could be very important if the chassis is not up to scratch?

For me it was the wrong spec because it had none of the chassis options.

The cab needs the chassis upgrades to reduce the woolly steering and mild understeer that the car suffers from. It’s not horrendous, but it puts the car dynamically on par with something like a 850i cab - I expected better from Porsche. Driving their PEC car (with PDCC, RWS and PASM -10mm) was night and day in terms of handling.

For context, I came from a GT3 and perhaps my expectations were unrealistic.

Still a superb car though, especially the engine and the tech but not my cup of tea in this spec.

All IMHO of course.

I haven’t driven the std 992 but I don’t think it will fizz more, It’s essentially a very similar engine in a lower state of tune. The ‘S’ is chuffing fast and would be my choice. Love PCCBs on road cars and see previous post re. chassis.

HTH.

I've just ordered my 992 CS, my first ever new car order and also my first Porsche so quite excited. Only a 10 week wait too which is nice.

I'm planning on keeping the car for at least 3 years so I have specced it pretty highly, probably overkill in fact but I like gadgets and personalisation.

At the moment I've ticked the PDCC and PASM boxes although I'm not sure if I need them or not, will have to drive a few at the Porsche Experience Centre and see what the instructors think too. I haven't gone for PCCB as this will be a daily drive and never be used on a track.

What are people's thoughts on the Aerokit? I have specced it as quite like it as I'm not a fan of the rear 3rd brake light but I've got a whole month before I have to lock in my spec. There are no second hand ones for sale with the Aerokit that I can see.

This is how it currently looks!

Please do a bit more research on PCCB, all road no track is precisely when you should consider speccing them

Aerokit - not a fan, ruins the lines and a bit try hard but no wrong answer
