Its a dilemma, i have always loved a manual car but if i was to get a GT3 i would be wanting to try the PDK box this time i know i,m getting old maybe.
Manual for GT3 , PDK for RS makes the most sense.

I think the PDK definitely suits the RS and you can see - obviously on all the YouTube 'Ring record videos - that it's stunningly effective, but I'd still have this fear of getting bored or wishing I still had a manual. If I did more road miles, it'd be different.

I feel the same,. I love the RS, but think after a few weeks the swap would be a mistake.

it just looks so frigging cool.

There’s no right or wrong I loved my 991.1 RS with the PDK but have gone back to a manual 991 GT3 now minus the spoiler.

If for some reason you have to have an auto (missing limb, injury?) then the great thing is the PDK is the only one that I've experienced that keeps enough of the manual control with you to hear and feel what the gearbox is doing. Nothing like a manual does though of course but I find it enjoyable all the same.

Weirdly in the GT3 the 'no creep' makes it feel a little more different to other autos / double clutches, no reason why just does for me.

Great to have a choice.

Tom Hartley has got a well priced manual CS at £133k...only spec missing is the LED lights if that bothers someone.

Lads, I'm looking for a well specced manual clubsport with PCCB and lift. Not yellow thanks

Does anyone know the guy who advertised the Agate one on here last week ? Did it sell.
My advise would be to put a wanted add out there on PistonHeads heads. I’m sure plenty would consider selling now they are dropping in price monthly, plus trade bids a poor ATM as well so gives you a good spread between trade and retail to work with. Failing that have you actually put any offers on cars as the sticker price isn’t the selling price, car market in a bad way!

Great time to buy if no PX
Thanks but I can’t even successfully Pm ( email) anyone.....I’m not sure that PH want/ ‘allow’ private advertisers do they....? I’m I inept or has something been restricted on my account....?

I haven’t made any offers but I shall be doing. I’m trying to rationalise whether I should just go for a GT3 RS as there seems to be a few to choose from , unlike the manual !
I’m sure if you are paying for the advert they will allow a wanted add. Be careful who you listen to on here, one or two love to talk a car up they are trying to shift at the time. Good luck with your search, 991.1 gt3rs can be had at great prices, ignore the sticker price, a low mileage nice spec 991.1 grr rs was bought recently for 130k from a dealer. So the 150k asking prices aren’t real selling prices.

I love these posts and these bargain cars you post about which no one ever sees.

£130k for a low miles RS ! Where the buyer or car ?

I completely agree with this sentiment . I’ve yet to track my manual but know Id much prefer PDK for a RS model.
I’m really liking getting to know my manual GT3 after 2 months but I also very much enjoyed my PDK on Gen 1.
Gut feeling is if in time I wanted (and can fund) to change for change sake I’d go RS WP and get a manual Honda Type R as daily .
PDK or Manual ? There both bloody good exciting drivers cars

Haha GT4RS has been asked before to provide details of all these magical planet internet cars which everyone knows don't exist.

Unsurprisingly, nothing materialised. hehe

Very true.

Both great gearboxes.

Had both.

No right no wrong.

Really depends what kind of driving you do your personal circumstances and what you use the car for.

I'm also sure manuals give drivers like me, who aren't that great, the chance to feel a bit more involved at a lower pace. Conversely, I'm already slower than my manual car, giving me a PDK RS is, frankly, a lesson in wasted potential.

However, what limited experience I have had of PDK in the 991.1 GT3 and also RS was great. Incredibly intuitive and easy to adapt to from manual and blisteringly quick shifting.

Will be racing my manual , no ABS , no Tractional control , no electronic rev matching etc etc the whole season ..... that is enough for me , PDK fine in the traffic and lazy track days

very hard to drive slow in a PDK also, so that's another issue.

manual just keeps you involved and that's what counts if you are driving for fun at weekends, otherwise what's the point, you may as well go out in your mates car if you don't want to change gear and be £200k richer ;-)

I had my 991 GTS for 2 months, it is dull, there is no getting away from it there is NOTHING to do.

does not make you a Man or a great driver (although is does make you a better driver) , but it gives you something to think about and do and is that not the whole point about driving for fun ?

PDK works ragging the arse off it which is why the RS really works on track and the GT3 in my eyes needs to be manual.

Even Porsche only offer the R and then the touring in manual as PDK would make the cars dull as st.

992 touring will be the main event in 2020 and launched on it's own way way before a winged GT3, IMO to kill off Touring overs and dealers flippers.
Any one who has paid a lot for a touring is about to take a big bath.

Porsche are taking note what's going on in the UK atm and are going to rock the boat for greedy dealers.

My local dealers already got a speedster for sale again !!! and a Touring !!! looking forward to this all ending.
Touring markets taken a dive already, the 992 touring launched early will be seeing to much lower prices by the end of the summer.

while Porsche GB and OPC are taking the piss, Porsche Germany seem to be listening and reacting.

Unconvinced Porsche give a st how their franchised dealers run the show tbh.

saying no issue getting a GT4 was a BIG statement by AP, and now launching the Touring early, looks like action to me.

GT4 718 are already not selling at overs, now we are seeing cancled orders due to no overs market on them.
SO that's killed VIP/OPC flippers dead as easy as that.

An early Touring not LTD numbers will knock >£20k off Touring models over night.
why pay overs when you can order a new one and get it this year.

BIG changes imo
