Why was the C4S more fun than my Turbo
Discussion
If you are seriously considering a 992 Turbo vs C2/4S etc, surely the dealer will allow you an extended test drive of both once the Turbo is out? They are different cars and you are best placed to decide what works for you in your typical driving scenarios.
There is a lot more to cars than horsepower and as you have found, more is not always best. Weight, drive train, wheel and tyre package, options, set up etc all make a difference. Given your experience with the C2S, It think its a strong indication that maybe the Turbo isn't the best car for you. Interestingly, a number of journalists feel the base model 911 is often the best drive out of the range. I would tend to agree but I only use my cars for fun/weekends and not commuting so my use case may be different to yours.
Try before you buy!

He wont have had a na C4S loan car so I assumed you were talking about a GT3. In the real world, not exploring the cars capabilities, torque trumps horsepower and torque is what a turbo has in abundance.I said nothing about the car as a whole, just that for day to day I'd take turbo over na as I enjoy the low down torque that's distinctly lacking in the na.
My Turbo S went in px for a Huracan and that was the same. By the time the Huracan was reving hard and starting to really pull the Turbo S would have had hitched its skirts and be long gone. Didn't matter with that car as it wasn't a daily.
Thank you everybody for such detailed replies, it's much appreciated.
Just to clarify, I do LOVE my Turbo - it is without doubt the best daily driver I have had, and trumps my old Mclaren 12C and V12 Vantage for daily use. For my 15 minute commute into central London it makes the perfect daily, and also allows me to have some fun when I take it out of London to visit the in laws. That being said, 80% of my driving is sub 40mph. (The joys of living in London eh!)
I guess the 991.2 CS I borrowed made me smile for a few days, but for longer term urban commute, I wonder how it would compare.

I’d say the C2S would be les frustrating! Driving a Turbo in Central London is a bit pointless if you ask me.....used to live in London and like you had a 15 to 20 min drive to work. Last “drivers car” I had that I used to do that journey in was an E46 M3 back in the early 00’s....I took that car to Europe (mainly the Alps) for a month and used it to it’s fullest. Came home and sold it within a month as it just frustrated the fk out of me that I couldn’t use it properly 5 days a week. Spent the next 10 years in comfortable/practical cars before moving out of London.Just to clarify, I do LOVE my Turbo - it is without doubt the best daily driver I have had, and trumps my old Mclaren 12C and V12 Vantage for daily use. Given that you prefer driving involvement, the 2 wheel drive GTS is a far purer and involving therefore 'better' drive than the 4 wheel drive GTS.Thats why there are none for sale, people in the know buy them!!
