wonder what colour it is under the wrap - clearly the akrapovic exhaust will be special, but i guess very expensive (anything to steer this thread away from another fractious debate with so and so but this one about bloody tyres...)

Speed Yellow....so that if the wrap gets a hole in it it wont show. That’s what he said on the Podcast when he mentioned it

Yes I'm sure your correct I think its yellow.
I am pretty sure it was done by Litchfields as they keep his 1M in store. They did a clear spray film on my new GT4 a really good job you cannot tell its got a film cover, a bit like the Kings new clothes, hope I've not paid for nothing smile

Local independent body shop I sue told me about these new spray on films about a year ago....then Topaz started marketing “Topaz Film”

Was it a similar price to PPF ?

Topaz use the same stuff as Litchfield. Ngenco. They just rebrand it.

They charge more for it than ppf as there is much more work involved. They also recommend ppf over it as it’s not as durable as ppf apparently.

If I ever get bored of my rs in black I may have a crack at a different colour one day.

Interesting debate over tyres. I was evangelistic re cup 2’s on my M3 CS and was super impressed with them even in cold and wet etc. Up until the time they threw me into a ditch and then a tree. Zero warning zero chance. 12 degrees ambient and 20 odd tyre temps. Road surface was like glass. I had my other set of wheels with ps4s waiting to go on but was lazy about it.

Always a silver lining as I was able to get out of the CS with no financial hit (GAP) and thru the jigs and the reels have ended up in a RS less than a year later.

I drove the RS on the cup 2’s in very cold conditions and did a Silverstone day in cold and damp and had zero confidence. Ordered some ps4s straight away and they are so much better in the same conditions. Even did a track day in cold and damp and they were great.

The key bit of info here though is that I am really enjoying the car at this time of year and I cannot say the same about the cup 2’s. For enjoyments and safety’s sake get the PS4s on ASAP.

Yes a little bit more expensive but not a lot and there is more work to do.
Spraying the film takes away all the edges so in time you won't get dirt under the edges causing the film to look unsightly. They have also changed the colour on Ian Litchfields Carrera T from Silver to a Metallic Green with a fleck in the colour. The car looks stunning and you really cannot tell its a film.
Anyone who is interested should take a look, Litchfields are near Tewkesbury.

I was looking on Black Circles today for some MPS4’s, can you confirm what ‘N’ number you were able to get please?

The fronts are N rated, the rears aren’t. If you want n rated rears you will have to go PS4 Acoustic. My dealer fitted mine no problem. The rears are quite stretched compared to the cups.

second skin is massive expensive.

they paint the car with a base coat which peals off when needed.

then they spray on the real paint and then the top coat.

so it's a full spray job and only as good as the sprayer and how far you strip the car, you can get £3k blow overs on paint, or spend £20k on a bare metal job as an example.

so unless you strip the car inc glass you get edges like a cheap spray job and over spray !!.

it's 130 hours labour total to do a car, I think prices start at £9k ish !!! so you really do have to want to change the colour.

Ditto. I think topaz were 6k plus vat but tbh I didn’t pay too much attention to it as I wasn’t in the market for it.

people take risks on blind bends driving is a lot about risks %, I hit a car on a hump back bridge at 15 mph, daft tt stopped on the blind side of it !!!!!! I had 1 second to react, was impossible so I hit it, was raining I was going VERY VERY slow. in the dry I do this bridge at 40+ mph in the dry could have been game over. I creep over this bridge now days.
I never do the same bridge fast now, I was lucky that day to be going 15mph as it weather so dire. I see cars doing this at 65mph daily.
I agree with this a lot. I try to always adopt the position that you should be able to stop within the visible distance. Yes, that means having to crawl around blind bends and over humpback bridges, but if a numpty is parked badly on the other side I’ll take no comfort from his poor decision making if I smash into them and there are life changing injuries. People will make the argument that you could be driving down a straight piece of road and have a deer jump out in front of you, but I don’t think that’s remotely the same scenario.

I nearly had a very nasty incident on a blind bend a couple of years ago....I was doing maybe 30moh on a 40 mph country road....had three kids (two of whom weren’t mine) in the car. Driving round a left hand bend with high hedge and come across a line of kids doing a DoE expedition walking in the inside of the bend straight at me ...my front bumper stopped less than 2 ft from the first kids knee cap. There was oncoming traffic so I had nowhere to go.....Weird thing was the kids didn’t actually seem that shocked when I got out to check on them. Tried explaining why walking on the inside of a blind bend is best avoided wasn’t getting very far.

Back in 2017 i had a very close shave in my 991.2GTS..As you i was driving round a sharp high hedged bend when coming in the other direction was a dumper truck doing about 10mph..The dumper wasn't the problem but the woman driving the Merc who thought it a good idea to overtake it just before the blind bend.I had to do an emergency stop, locked the wheels and missed her by inches..It was damp and if my 911 had been on Michelin Cups it would 100% have been a high impact head on collision aka Chris Harris's episode.

We were always taught walk facing traffic but cross to always be on the outside of a bend.
