I'm guessing that not much of the 'top-end' stuff is bought using finance? Can't imagine many Speedster owners using PCP.
Really.?
I can’t imagine many not using it.

Pushed as part of the ‘allocation deal’ for most.

Steering wheel on the wrong side, but be interesting to see what this makes at Sotherbys next week. Looks ace in yellow!

Absolutely agree.
Everyone knows it’s a Porsche. Why ruin it with some ‘Halfords go-faster’ stickers.

I think you'd be surprised. I agree very, very few will be using an OPCs PCP but there is a whole micro industry built up around asset finance.

Yup...especially when there’s the thought that you can make a quick £50k. Put £100k down....borrow £120k...£5k of finance payments (less if you flip it quickly) and when you sell it you net £45k which looks like a 45% profit.

Plus the OPC will probably want the lucky few to take finance as a “thank you” for the allocation.

Totally agree. Have always wondered, do these type of decals come off without leaving a visible latent image either in the polish or actually in the paintwork - especially when viewed in sunlight?

I love the looks of both the 718 Boxster T and the 991.2 T but I really detest the decals!! tongue out

Yes, also dislike aftermarket stickers and the ‘over-badging’ that some people find necessary to apply.
They can leave a shadow when removed, depending on how long they’ve been on, but a detailer can usually eliminate the worst of it.

Just over 3500 Miles, would have been easy double if not for lock down. One of best road driving 911s I have ever owned

I was advised it would improve a customers chances of getting Speedster when I told salesman I do not do finance unless there is a financial incentive. Nice car but not worth 225k with some spec IMO. Good luck with overs sales couldn't have happened to a nicer bunch of people.

Well done - that's some going. How does it compare to the 991.2 GT3 variants? What's your view having now driven it so much?

I have owned it for over a year now, so miles quite low due to C-19. It drives like a GT3 Touring only slightly softer set up. But being a Convertible you get to hear a lot more. As for how it sounds like someone said above its not quite as loud as the Gen 2 GT3s, but not by a lot, it more than makes up for it in the way it Revs a bit harder due to the ITBs, also all of the flat 6 sound/tone is still there. One of the most impressive points for me is its structural rigidity for a convertible. Over the summer I ran it back to back with a 992 C2s Cab, you could really notice this when getting back in the 992 after the Speedster.

Thanks for that. If it's as good as the Touring, with no roof, that sounds like my ideal car! I will just drive with the windows open for now smile

In the closing minutes it went from 195k to 235k so still 15k below reserve so showing unsold.

There are about 30 Speedsters for sale in the German Porsche network alone. All commanding overs of 30-50k but not shifting. I tried desperately to get one at launch but to no avail so maybe wintertime and Covid will make these go back to list or thereabouts. Same story with the 911R which is now around 260-285k in Germany.

I am in similar boat to you were Having failed to get a new one as Porsche have criteria's I no longer fit despite having had 14 new Porsche sports cars including a 1989 Speedster back in the day

I have watched the UK cars all Covid19 year long and seen them come of the boil by a good £50k + + +

Today I would not be a buyer at anything above the list price for a low to no miles example and if the economic meltdown continues well into 2021/22/23 I would not be a buyer anywhere near original list price especially as there would be very little chance to actually use and enjoy such a machine
