Pretty much echoes what i said earlier..The Cups are pretty good in the wet until you up the pace or need to do an emergency stop..
It takes 5M longer to stop at 55mph which is the difference between killing the child who runs across the road in front of you or escaping unscathed..
This test was done in the Summer so i imagine the Cups wet performance on a very cold wet Winter's day to be much worse again !..The big issue is the aforementioned wet emergency braking, quite simply the difference between life and death..
I'm pretty surprised that some on here say any different to be honest..

Taffy should not be doing 55 where there could be children , simple really you moderate and adjust your driving to the conditions and where you are environment .......... I have used Cups on 64Rs , 996 GT3 and now my RS all through the winter .....\
Never had any crash or even incident for over 30 years on the road .....
A 993 GT2R in a downpour on slicks at 2 am , now that is a bit of fun .
PS4S are a nice tyre , but funds limited so only afford 1 road car

You mean there shouldn't be children where cars are driving at 55 mph frown, however the same principle lies in any driving scenario where you might need to do an emergency stop in the wet and cold..I drove my RS on Cups last Saturday back and forth over the Black Mountains in biblical weather however the temps were just over 10C..
A lot of it is confidence in ones ability to handle such a car in bad conditions, which someone such as yourself who is an experienced racing driver will have more than most..Someone like me is very dependent on the RS's electronics to avoid trouble.
I had the latest Dunlops on my GT3 which i did 3k miles in and these latest Cups are much better in the wet i find..How do you compare the Dunlops to your present Cup 2s on your RS in the wet,,?

Hi Taffy agree , the main thing racing especially in poor conditions gives you is an awareness constantly what is happening around you , and this possibly helps .
I thought the Dunlops were fantastic in the wet especially when new ......
Hope you are well , maybe come with us guys to Le Mans Classic this year , is a great drive down in the RS and will be fun at the Porsche curves as usual whether on track or having a pint !!.

Anyway back to the OP , if not going on track there is no reason for Cup tyres and the PS4 S are great tyres .
