We have just P/exed our much loved Gen 2 RS for a WP RS. Found one at Leeds OPC registered in Oct 2019. The car had only 99 miles recorded! Yes I know I have paid over list though was happy to do so as I have circumnavigated the need to buy the required multiple number of other models and their subsequent depreciation by doing so.

After our Lizard Green it seems quite muted in GT Silver. So far we have covered only an additional 160 more miles. Initial impressions and comparisons are a bit limited other than it is so Quiet! That of course is due to the PPF's; my question is what can be done at a reasonable price? Sharkwerks cannot help, Akrapovich are offering an expensive alternative. Has anyone opened up the rear silencer and removed any or all of the internals and would that work? I ask the question as our Lizard had definetly become quite fruity probably as a result of the 8,800 miles and three track days!

The car is currently at Lichtfield having their spray on PPF applied, seven coats apparently. I decided that I didn't wish to risk all that exposed Carbon Fibre to chipping. I was very impressed by Lichtfields help, advice and experience. Ian Lichtfield took the time to show us all around his facilities, all in all it is very impressive well run establishment.

We will collect the car in a couple of days time which won't be a moment too soon by which time our Reg No. GT03MOL will be in place. Hopefully by then the weather will have improved and the driving can begin.

Congrats, and enjoy in good health - I saw the posts on instagram.

I do have to ask... its a free country and your money, and all that.... but why the change?.... did you also the Mag wheels..looks like the standard ones in the pic.

For exhaust options - JCR are leading the way for 991.3 (WP and Speedster)

swaps a nice car free of PPF's and better sounding for a non mag wheel silver car with PPF's !!!!!!

if you posted this I might have understood ! atm I am with TDT and pretty shocked at the move.

You guys are joking right?

Our May 2018 Lizard with about 8,500 miles has gone in against a late October 2019 WP with 99 miles. Happy days

As for the mag wheels, well we will actually use the car so the mags would just have been a liability - imagine scuffing one!

Colour-wise - the darker the colour the less recognisable the car is as a Weissach Pack so we are happy with GT Silver - classic - right?!

What Robgt is lacking is a sensible wife who would have talked him out of the deal wink

My Lizard had reached the lofty heights of 8,800 miles, hefty depreciation was imminent, the time of year to change was perfect. I found for me the perfect car with virtually zero miles. It didn't have the mag wheels which was more than reflected in the asking price. Were I to add them as an after market purchase I am still winning based on the P/ex allowance that I was given! I consider like others the wheels to be a liability due to the fact that they cannot be refurbished something that can be substantiated by the number of people who have the original alloys fitted and the mags tucked away in a box. I also did not want or desire a grey or black car. Justifying the price to change was a little difficult at first though clearly I manged to do so. GT3RS's will always be special the Weissach Pack version even more so.

Incidentally our buying history to date equates to 3 x new Aston Martins Vantages (never again), 991 GT3, 991GT3RS, 981GT4, 991GT3 4.0 ltr, 991 GT3RS Gen 2 and now 991GT3RS WP. Somewhere in the middle of all that also a 991 911 convertible. We have driven an average of 9,000 trouble free miles a year and loved every single mile. We have lost very little money in depreciation in fact quite the reverse. I could make the jump to the WP and chose to do so.

My wife Amanda (Molly) is a total car nut, she loves driving and adores the RS; what pleases her pleases me.We are so looking forward to this year and the adventures that we will have with driving it. Incidentally her Golf GTI Performance Pack was changed 3 weeks ago for a new Golf R. In the real World does anyone need any more than that car provides.

I saw this on Insta, your 8500 miles is way behind my 12k and counting! Just booked in for its 4 year service, be right back selling a kidney.....

Not sure what the noise will be like of my new .3 with all this GPF nonsense tho. eek.

I also didn't spec the magnesium wheels although in the last few months I've kinda come around to them, they look epic. But scuffs would be tricky even with insurance, just one more thing to worry about. I keep telling myself that anyway.

We have averaged 9000 miles a year over a 5 year period in our GT cars.

JCR are making so far the best sound OPF back systems. Full system will also be available soon but that is a different topic.

There may have been some SLIGHT exaggeration in the number of miles we are covering before getting new toys biggrin

I called my car 'high mileage' on the phone when booking the service today before correcting myself with the lady agreeing I had gone temporarily mad.

Pretty sure that if well maintained these things will outlast us all, or at least until the oil runs out.

I had every option but not the MAG Wheels, nothing to do with cost I just know they are going to become a PITA

Nothing wrong with standard wheels IMO

So no solution to the quiet exhaust. I still like the thought of opening up the rear silencer and removing some or all of what lurks inside. Advantage would be it could be reinstated.

Just watch the warranty when messing about with exhausts, especially on perceived halo cars.
