Why buy a 991R for £300k when a touring can be had for half the price. Same as the 997sc at £300k and a 997gts at £60k ok not exactly the same car but 90% there
IMHO these are the type of cars that will take the biggest hit post cv19
The R's quite special, Carbon panels, lwfw, VERY ltd. numbers.IMHO these are the type of cars that will take the biggest hit post cv19
It’s the 10% which makes ok cars great cars.
The R is a RS sans wing, not a GT3 sans wing like the touring.

Because its a limited number plaque car, not a cooking GT model. Everything will and is taking a hit, at all levels.IMHO these are the type of cars that will take the biggest hit post cv19

That now makes the price I paid for mine back in mid December look a bit rich, and I haven't even had chance to drive it properly yet. Although on the flip side, the money would probably have otherwise been invested in equities, so swings and roundabouts. And I can't bust a nut driving an equity.

If that OPC touring referenced above, for sale at £155k (up from £150k) let’s say it had a wing on it and was identical spec otherwise, steels etc, what would the price be? £130k? Just trying to work out roughly what we think the touring premium is currently.
Less I would say. OPC Silverstone conveniently have a Manual Clubsport up for sale for £127k....if that was Comfort spec as per the Touring you could probably say that’s a £125k car. They have had this car in for a while though, was previously £132k from memory so whilst I don’t think they’d budge much on the Touring I think they would on this car. £30k ish premium. I think that premium gets bigger over the next six months though...a lot less Touring’s about which will really make a difference.Cheib said:

it's a pretty low spec car though the Silverstone one I guess so at £127k it's less value than a fully speced up £135k car.these Cheaper cars are more expensive in real money ie. more overs !!
Great track spec car though.

thanks cheib and 911r, interesting and that all makes sense
thing is it's hard to price up lower speced cars as they don't sell very fast even though they look cheaper they are more expensive really.SO while people love a headline £127k price or a £155k touring price they are still TOO expensive.
as for the GAP, GT3 vs touring never was sure why there is a gap, it's def closing up that's for sure, was £50 to £60k now £25 to £30k and will get closer not wider apart as some say. people could spec a Touring when they ordered a GT3 I had the option, it's not a popular model and did not sell well most were flipped, it's rare to find a org owner touring. Now at the £30k gap you really do have to want NO wing to pay £30k to have it missing, that's a rare market if there ever was one.

It's what the market dictates. Very simple. The Tourings cost more than the regular GT3. I think you need to move on SO while people love a headline £127k price or a £155k touring price they are still TOO expensive.

Fewer people may want them, but those that do perceive an increase value from the fewer available cars.
Given that scenario, the buyers are not as price sensitive, and hold out for the spec exactly.
That’s a very fragile market; at some point there’s adjustments.
In 20 years it all changes and I think all special Porsche cars will be valued highly relatively speaking. But we’re almost dead by this point. So buy to drive.

Touring is the ultimate incarnation of the GT3 for me. Personally, I think a wing looks a bit out of place on a road car. Just imho.
You're not alone If a top spec gt3 cs and a low rent touring came along at the same price/miles I would take the touring! IMHO doesn't matter what seats are in the touring but I will take mine with folding buckets and not to worried about much else!
But would I pay more than regular gt3 .... That's a big fat no, a touring just gives another choice like pdk , manual or CS or even different seats in a regular gt3.

Amen to this, the look of the Gt3 touring is just so right in my eyes. It’s just a shame some few were built, hence the 30k premiums over a normal GT3.
