Had a great day yesterday. Good to meet new people and put names to faces and also see to a few friends from years back. My first time at Oulton Park, loved it. It’s well suited to the GT4.

Thanks all and thanks to Chris W for the ride in his well sorted GT4.

Superb day. Exemplary driving courtesy from all I encountered. 90 cars out and not a single stoppage or serious incident all day speaks volumes.

Great to catch up with many of you.

Already re-booked my hotel for next year!

It’s the first track day I’ve been to in ages with not even a yellow flag. Good driving by most and letting people pass quickly.

You certainly looked like you were enjoying yourself.

How’d you find your passenger laps?

It was a brilliant day. Best RS day I’ve been to yet, we were blessed with the weather.

As has been said, excellent driving from all.
No stoppages, most people using mirrors and taking note of blue flags.
My best day at Oulton Park so far.
Learning day for me, new personal bests when checked the data back at home.
Also first day with the DSC controller also… with my custom map the car was excellent. I didn’t get to back to back with OEM controller as I was having too much fun on circuit, so that will happen at Silverstone, a circuit I know much much better.

Great day guys, as Digga says… need to book up from now for next year.

Doesn’t matter how fast or slow anyone is, as long as people drive considerately there’s no problem.

There’s fast drivers in slow cars and slow drivers in fast cars. No one’s winning any medals, it’s all fun.

It’s a good point, that I should have mentioned. No red flags and very good driving for the most part. There was one car that thought making way for a faster car was optional, but that was soon sorted.

I wish all track days were this good. The track was also in great shape, a tot of track days recently have had loads of rubber marbles that never get swept so there’s loads of pick up. None on Friday though. Great stuff.

I was indeed. The GT4 suits the track as it’s not a huge power circuit like Silverstone / Spa et-al. So the gap to the modern GT3’s is less, Although they are obviously still a good bit quicker.

The passenger laps with Chris were great. The mods he’s made are superb, Very tempting!

I caught a glimpse of you in your RS however i didn't get a chance to come over..In all fairness Oulton favours smaller, lighter and nimbler cars so your RS isn't in its natural habitat there..Its a Silverstone car when the power takes it to another level..
The RS day shows how good drivers can be even in quite humble Porsches..My afternoon passenger laps with Bubbles and Digga were the best i've ever experienced there..I was so pissed off that my RS was at the body shop having a new bumper fitted..The consolation was to see what great drivers both Bubbles and Digga are, despite what their typical modesty says..!

I look forward to this day every year, thanks to our organisers and the other participants who make it happen. Our usual group of fifteen PCI members attended.

Its always a pleasure to see you irish boys over, you have supported our event for years well, next you must join us for our social dinner again,we had a great eveing with 12 around the table, good food and banter.
Great weather again,a vast selection of cars, not a mention of mileage, spec, depo etc, just driving pleasure.
The paddock was a fine display of cars to watch the day,the most i think we have seen over the last 20 years.Just a couple of niggles of people who came to watch the event, who then drive like prize what ever from the event, causing msv to make a comment. We had the lambo rev off last year which did not help, please have respect for the event otherwise it may well put the onlookers in jeopardy of being allowed in,the place to drive fast is on track only, not posing on the way out!
Rpm had a pro photographer at the event, should be some great photos available at some point.
Taff oulton is the perfect place for a 991,i went out in my mates car, blown away by the grip and speed through and out of the corners and proved to be as nimble as anything else out there with that rear wheel steer, still takes some getting used to the feeling of what its doing.smile

A case in point; two laps (an out lap and warm up lap ) mid morning, and no traffic: https://youtu.be/fBD0ePuH61E

I was going to say, don't take the piss out of the driving, but then what the hell, I don't care!

The number of cars seemed to self-regulate nicely. I guess, on road tyres at least, there's a limit to how long you can reasonably expect to stay out.

I'll try and dig out some good clips - with other cars in the mix - to post up in a video over the next few days.

What wonderful sunshine Digga.! Seems your nephew was really enjoying himself..Just one question, where are all the cars as it seems you had the track all to yourself.

Totally mad, isn't it? We couldn't believe it. I kept looking at the marshal's posts thinking there must be a red flag!

Nephew loved it. He was particularly taken with the older, aircooled stuff - watching them and hearing the down-shifts into Old Hall really is a thing.

Looks like a great day, very disappointing not to be there especially as we are not racing at the Gold Cup there this year. And I see there's new concrete on the exit of turn 1 the other side of the painted kerb. More visits to the CoC on race days then!

Yes, running wide at Old Hall definitely looks a slightly less terrifying prospect now. IIRC, toward the end of the day, a 991 did get off track limits out there, without issue.

Was a superb day.
