I bought it. In the first week it’s performed a lot better than stocks. So that’s a good investment.

Ace! Forget ‘investments’ in the current climate, just enjoy. Seems you are in good company though, because plenty of GT3 and RS cars are still selling.

Enjoy. I still have the fridge magnet (came with a bunch of car wall magnets in Too Gear magazine back in the day) of the orange 997.1 RA on my fridge. It’s been there as a sort of totemic image, since back in the day. IMHO it’s truly iconic.

clap

A refreshing lack of procrastination, dithering, and/or running for the hills with your head wrapped in tin-foil.

Well done that man.

Enjoy every second of it.

Oof, never seen that one before. Was always black and orange for me but stealth black is now the winner. Wonder if it was a factory order like that or a simple "de-orange" job?

To the OP, you'll love it-still the best car I've ever driven on track.

It was a cancelled factory order the owner had bought off an OPC, I went to view the car but he’d used it very hard in track, no issue with that, but there were clear signs of more than one trip into the kitty litter ...

There was another all black example that Vic Cohen owned briefly too, his was identical, but for gloss black wheels and yellow PCCB callipers.
I prefer the silver wheels smile

How do you still remember them cars after all this time, must be going on for poss 9/10 years now isn’t it Henry !?..bloody hell man haha, good memory, I had the pics of the black car with silver wheels and silver decals in my photobucket account with loads of other ones but can no longer access without paying the c00nts !
Simple Stevie, I’m just sad hehe
I remember the black example with silver decals and wheels, there was also a white example with Riviera blue and silver wheels (a la 996 GT3 RS) just stunning.

Ah yes Photobucket ... frown

Seems a bit unfair posting a picture of a completely unrelated car smashed up.

What about this one at £99k?

https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...
Price looks attractive but miles will put a few off. One with half those miles is 115k so its not too unreasonable.

Depends on what you want i suppose. Mileage wouldn't put me off but then some would not like 8 previous owners

Anyone have knowledge of Orange AE07 MUC currently for sale at the Octane Collection? Looks in great condition, low miles, but any info appreciated. Will you obviously do inspection and usual due diligence if I proceed.
Prior to buying my 996 Manthey last week from JZM i asked them about a 997.1 Gt3 RS in orange they may be getting in.
They suggested a price of 118/119 for a car with circa 15k miles ( may have been slightly less mileage) so i'd speak to them if i were you.

I've dealt with them a few times and personally i'd go there or 9E and RPM to buy a car from an Indi.

Some value in peace of mind . Thats not suggesting the Octane car isn't a good one of course, i just now ( having learnt the hard way) stick to what i've tried and tested

Maybe not a great test. I've heard the mileage may not be accurate..

Yeah, owned by a crook. We get the English ones at our NI auctions and England gets ours.

The auction idea, especially in this environment, looks attractive but if i had a car like that i'd put it with JZM who would have a list of clients that they'd place calls to. They would still likely get you a good market price. Once they have checked the car over of course.

Sometimes buying blind isn't the best idea

Yep had the inspection and they did everything I wanted (and I’m particular). I’ve regretted losing the car I wanted too many times and these are rare enough in the spec I want so I didn’t haggle to the last penny. It’s a long term buy and I know I’m going to get lots of pleasure so it’s worth it for me. And in five years there’ll be even fewer nice ones so now is the time to do it.!
