Also, looking at it, you were often positioning the car to be out of the rooster of spray, to enable you to maintain better visibility and stay on the gas.
I have to say, the Audi driver was a little bit unsporting - if I;d had someone that close behind for a few laps, I'd have let them past a.) because I'd suspect they might be quicker anyway, but b.) it'd be fun switching places to follow for a bit.
Lol. Yes indeed I couldn't anything in front of me for a large section of that ding dong hence forcing me to take lines I wouldn't normally take but hey that's what needed to be done I guess.I have to say, the Audi driver was a little bit unsporting - if I;d had someone that close behind for a few laps, I'd have let them past a.) because I'd suspect they might be quicker anyway, but b.) it'd be fun switching places to follow for a bit.

I like the randomness of the cross-track flows of water on the way down from Les Combes to Rivage and then down toward Pouhon. Saw the odd wiggle from the car there in your video.

Small engine leak eh? Hope for you it isn’t a core plug!
You say that like it wouldn't be a good thing, I've heard of core plugs in the water jacket but not for the oil system ?? Mind you I don't know much about the GT3 engine.Anyway not wanting to derail this thread, but I do have a picture here showing where the leak is, this is the offside rear area of the engine next to the exhaust, and I believe it's the oil pump area ??
Seems to me that the leak is from the large flanged pipe, oil doesn't seem to be present above the pipe.
I'm guessing there's an 'o' ring in there, and that the retaining bolts can only be accessed by removing the oil pump ??
Struggling to find a decent engine drawing on line for the Mk1 996.
I could be completely wrong of course, maybe someone with superior knowledge could advise, would be much appreciated.
It is almost certain that the union shown in the photo will be the culprit. The same component started leaking on my 996 Turbo, RSJ cleaned the area and nipped the nut tighter, problem solved.
This was way back in 2014 and the car has been dry since then.

Well just for info not such a simple fix, the pipe fitting was already very tight. I ended up removing the scavenge pump to check for a damaged O ring, not as bad a job as I thought it would be which was good. Nothing obvious found but renewed all O rings, put it back together and seems to be fine now thankfully.
Nice one Sandy Any pics of your car ?
Not for Mr Demons benefit of course !

Very niceKept company but another yellow beauty i can see....
Yellow under the covered one too? Is there a theme here ?
Need to take my suspension back another notch as my local roads are just terrible but other than that my K400 is fantastic
These clearly aren't a 'one size fits all' car

Hopefully new O-rings does the trick. We've seen hydraulic leaks where there's literally no discernible reason why O-rings are leaking, but they just are. At the end of the day, they can and do get old/damaged/perished.GT3Manthey said:
So what’s under the cover next to the GT4?
Loving the yellow theme
Yes maybe a bit OTT on the yellow, wasn't really planned that way just kind of happened, Smart car gone now though Loving the yellow theme
On the GT3 comparison with the GT4, tough one as both are great to drive, but the biggest grin is in the GT3 at the end of the day.
The GT3 is just more raw with no driver aids and sounds better esp at higher revs, the GT4 is a great package though and has a bit more refinement for longer road trips etc, but also great on track.
The 968 is a bit of a slow coach in comparison, but still a real fun drive and I think it has aged very well.
The digger is also great fun to drive !!
