Not sure if helpful, but Harry has had one out and about.

Don't get me wrong - love a 911.
Totally get the point and purpose of the Turbo, and big want.
But on the flipside. Watching him demonstrates the large irrelevance of what is a Supercar and Hypercar.
Great county lanes, places to drive, (and I know he does not want to be seen heinously lawbreaking on a camera) but every tweak he did, every squirt of the pedal, gave at max4 seconds before dialling it back down, turning off all the settings etc.
I was very fortunate to have a ride in a P1 back when it was new to a friend.
Pottering around I goaded him to 'go on. give it the fking beans.'
We hurtled to the horizon like a bullet from a rifle from I would guess 45 to probably 120 in a flash. Giggle out loud stuff. But within seconds, it was a matter of hugely illegal speeds, and caught up with the next car.
It made me wonder, would the ownership, and driving of the car be much fun in reality ???
Love 911, and the Turbo, but it is all rather irrelevant.
The cars have moved on massively. The roads haven't. the volume of road users and chances to now use, must extrapolate to what is probably a matter of being able to 'use 20% of the car capacity' versus a decade ago of enjoying 80%.

Can fully related to your view. Whilst the Turbo S is the one 992 that creates at least some "want" with me, I know I'd be terribly frustrated owning one. The beauty of the GT3s is that they are different and exciting for me already at regular road speeds - even though they offer so much more again on trackhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wFbUCmu73MQ

You can guarantee Harry won't speed on camera after this: https://www.itv.com/news/calendar/2019-10-21/journ...

I still think my point is valid though, so much capability, power, speed is (sadly) unusable And Hence not required in reality

That was one of my main reasons - kept seeing reviews of warp-speed launch control (which cant be used). My GT3 is too quick for the road at 500 bhp.And Hence not required in reality

There will always be someone who wants the ultimate. I certainly wouldn't swap my GT3 for one, but i also wouldn't use my GT3 as a daily, whereas a turbo S would make a lovely daily i think. Must have been a difficult decision to cancel it !For me this is the best looking 992 to date.
Of course the power is too great for the road, but that’s been the case since the 996 turbo, so I’m not sure it’s a factor worth worrying about too much. Maybe it’ll be the car to finally sink the Tesla performance models at the traffic light Grand Prix.
I’m sure these could pitch up to a track day and demolish the lap times of most of the GT3s, but without some of the sensations and challenges.
Porsche’s job is to make it better than the last one and I’m sure they’ve achieved that.

It took me 4 months to decide to cancel it. It would have replaced the GTS as the daily driver. I can assure you it was a tough decision but perhaps I'm just getting more sensible as I get older!Grantstown said:

Whilst the 992 TTS is clearly more focused than the old model, it is still no track car primarily due to its weight with consequential affects on consumables.Porsche’s job is to make it better than the last one and I’m sure they’ve achieved that.
Circuit dependent, it would be probably be slightly ahead of the GT3 for perhaps a lap or two but after that the GT3 would undoubtedly as ever be the car to beat with the best fun factor way above the TTs for the GT3 driver too.
