992ts vs Mac 720 can be seen here

Worth a watch, I may have missed it but I don't see Matt Watson using overboost in the 992ts?
Cheers.

Exactly my point - FFWD to 4:27 and watch the 720 run away from the 991. Them 720's are astonishingly rapid
Kudos to Porsche launch control though as the 911 just fks off from zero!

TX.

Funnily enough, that video has me more impressed by the Porsche than the Mc. As a daily usable road car, up to three figure speeds I doubt there’s anything quicker on the roads than a Turbo S.

I’m now regretting cancelling mine. Some of the respected contributors on here comparing it to GT cars. Sounds like the perfect combo of everyday usability, emotion and rapidity in one package. Bugger. Phoned OPC and said my July slot would now be March 2021.

I’ve rounded numbers GT3 bit quicker than 50 secs but it’s a huge gap in time for both car to get through speed traps
My 991.1 GT3 the Black one with comfort seats was very fast a V-MAX, on the old layout with the long right hanger, it used to see off 12Cs with ease. It would launch so fast. As for this new 992 Turbo S being faster than a Gen 2 GT3 on track. No doubt in my mind based on my time with both cars. That the TTS will be along way ahead this is a GT car this time round, the suspension and the Brakes make all the difference. The only problem the TTS will have is after around 20 Mins of very fast laps the Pzero will let go due to the weight and lateral loads. Hope they bring out a performance tyre before to long.

Guess that engine is loosening up nicely. I wonder how many miles that press car has on it now.... every man and dog in the press seems to have had a go in that one.

After a long day of Mostly B road in my 992 TS totally agree it is more like my 991.2 GT3-RS suspension, front end feels GT -esque...
Crappy A road dips and troughs the suspension does not like and it does have to compose itself for a second, can only think of that being the one negative. Sports mode is sweet spot, it doesn’t change the suspension to Sports which is nice, so gives the user an option, only pick up Friday so will revert back In due course come end of next week once I’ve put some more B road miles on it.

Sheer turn of pace Is next level, shame they put Pirelli’s on the standard rim, I’ve noticed that the other 2 cars delivered at my OPC which opted for the Classic design option wheels BOTH came with Goodyear.. come of Porsche... we need Michelin’s at least as an option on these

992 tts very, very quick off the line...but seems a lot of excitement on here for the most latest 4 wheel drive Porsche Turbo S being 0.3 secs quicker than a 3.5 Yr old rwd McLaren to 135mph...especially when the other 'real world' increments shows the 720 to be quicker.

Whilst it clearly shows that the 992 TTS to be an absolute weapon, McLaren deserves serious kudos for putting out cars as fast as this since 2011... 12c 10.7 secs, 650 10.5 secs etc...

One of the most prolific posters here, AV185, loves to point out that McLarens performance is boring as a child can put it in drive and knock out these figures...i wonder if he shares the same view point on this as most here are anticipating seeing these TTS at VMAX etc...

Did you go for the -10mm PASM? I’m slightly concerned I may find the ride a bit too harsh, I’ve got the option to test drive mine before I agree to taking delivery but then I can’t see myself not liking it. I look forward to your thoughts once you’ve had more time with it.

Yes spec'd 10mm PASM, pretty sure that is why it is not very forgiving over poor surfaces... I f spec'd again i would not spec 10mm PASM for sure, well if you re mostly using as a daily. another thing to mention- the 'Wet mode alert' is mega sensitive now, much more so than my 992 C4S which basically did not alert unless it was monsoon rain!

Will keep you updated

Was not available on first built cars, of which most dealers only got 2 maybe three for the year!

Not sure i would Spec the lightweight package as the road noise is worst than the 991 TS!

All part of Porsches move to a more 'focused' driving experience of this non GT Porsche as less sound insulation.

As previously mentioned this car is now a serious weapon and great value too effectively a half price GT2 RS with road bias.

it's hard to get excited on the turbo cars esp at this money

when you can buy a base 911T mod it and and have a 9.9 second 1/4 mile car (a sub 10 car will need Hybrid Turbos)
But a remappped T with ohlins and Cups is cheap.

that's the Cheap GT2 RS right there, add some Ohlins and cups's you have a £85K GT2 RS beater !

https://youtu.be/4RLO9iC0ZaQ

GT2 RS btw is 10.3 1/4 :-(
Turbo S 10.1

FFS you can buy a 718 Cayman now and lap faster than a oem GT3.
.....

strange times. and all will be rendered VERY slow come the Tesla Roadster.

But as we all know its not about the outright speed .

A fast car is the easy bit as many manufacturers have proved.

Its the driving interaction and character at all speeds which is the hard part to factor in especially as cars get faster and faster.

Probably why Porsche see fit to make the 992 TTS more driver focused whereas other manufacturers are broadly doing the opposite and losing enthusiastic drivers/customers in the process.
