Are there really 47 GT3 tourings in the UK (C16)?

Update | I can't come on the Touring Day out as I no longer have one
I never thought I would sell it and that I would keep it forever - amazing car but I always wanted a Speedster. Wish I could have kept both but not possible.
Congrats on the new motor. A Touring Spyder. I never thought I would sell it and that I would keep it forever - amazing car but I always wanted a Speedster. Wish I could have kept both but not possible.
My Touring came out of storage at the weekend after being away for 7 months. I forgot how good they are. I’ve put nearly 500 miles on it since Saturday, and it just gets better and better.
While it was in storage, and with prices rising, I found myself wondering if I’d ever sell it. And if so, was now the right time?
All those thoughts have quickly disappeared. What was I thinking? There will never be a better car or a better engine. Ever.

Tend to agree with that statement, albeit sweeping. Edited by BorkBorkBork on Tuesday 1st June 18:10
Sold my 812 Superfast, no regrets, would i sell my Touring?, absolutely not. Better car in every respect.
This will come to be regarding as the sweetspot of modern Porsche i think.

So after the launch of the 992 Touring, how many 991 owners will be swapping their Touring’s for the latest model?
Magnus Walker seems to think the 991 did a better job at “ Touring”
Mine isn’t going anywhere. Ideally I’d like to add a 992 to it though at some stage. They both represent what I consider the greatest modern incarnation of the 911. In terms of performance, just how much the 992 has moved things on is unclear at this stage. Cornering seems to be improved with the double wishbones at the front, and the wider track. From the reviews, the ride seems more compliant that some thought it would be. Although The Smoking Tire review did make mention of a busy front end. As regards engine noise, I find it hard to believe the 991.2 can be bettered. And opinion seems to be split on that. I guess I’ll need to hear it for myself, inside the cabin and out.
I think the 991.2 is the better looking car. Maybe I’m a little biased. But the 992 looks like it will be more colour sensitive, and will suit darker colours.

I passed, can’t bear to part with my current car. I understand those who’d like to add the new car to their stable, but I don’t have that option and even if i had the space i just don’t see the point in having two very similar cars. Those who are swapping or adding, i wish them very well.

Having driven the 992GT3 this week and then switched back to the 991Touring.. I can’t help think that the 991 chassis is much better at being a Touring whilst the 992 chassis is better at being a track car.. pity the 992 Touring as it has an impossible act to follow! Those who are swapping or adding, i wish them very well.

I’ve swapped but it was part of a Speedster/992 Touring combo so I feel I’ve got the best of both worlds with a 991 and the 992. Saw the 992 at Goodwood and I’m not disappointed
Can you say where your touring is now? If anyone is looking to get out of one… let me know
Please

interesting, i have not driven the 992 GT3 yet. Clearly the 991.2 is not as firm or aggressive, which i am sure makes it's replacement an even better track car. Porsche don't make a habit of going backwards, but at the same time it's based on the 992 so you get all the extra tech, size, styling etc, which just doesn't float my boat. I seem to spend most of my seat time now in a small white Toyota Yaris, must be getting old.

Bigger arse or not that is a fantastically good looking car.
It doesn't photograph as well as it looks in the flesh. The Gentian Blue car @ Goodwood was stunning from every angle (it even looked good parked next to the DLS Singers so can't be that bad!).Gassing Station | 911/Carrera GT | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
