So it seems Chris Harris prefers the 991 Touring.
Not according to his 992 video where the 992 was the best thing since sliced bread ,if you can get one,get one , he says!Normal journo outcomes.
True measure of which one is greater is which one he kept wink
They seem hugely expensive …same £ money as 992…and not shifting ?
Agree very trumpy indeed £ wise. Ignoring that, IMO the 991 is a more appealing car.
I’m still looking, what’s available is wrong spec, toppy or not warrantied….
Must admit the 991 looks the better car,but what 60k more than a rear wing version is nuts, was looking in germany there is not such a big gap,but to expensive for the uk.
What robbo says.

Another option, plenty of south paws in the EU. Even with the rubbish FX and Brexit, think you could get one back here for mid £170's. Loads on mobile.de not all in DKR!:

This is a GT3 touring conversion. Seems its an emerging trend now that winged owners are able to convert to full touring spec using all genuine Porsche parts

RPM Technik also did a video recently on the same subject:

Is there anyway to tell a factory ordered GT3 touring ?

Spotted while walking to work in town a month or two ago.

Manual and on centre locks. The owner has fine taste.

The centre locks on a 991.2 Touring have the Porsche badge, whereas the winged have the ‘GT3’ script. I suppose you could change those too though.

What are the thoughts on this one? Steels & sports, but there are some advantages to those!

I don't know the history of this car but....2 year cast iron warranty and as much protection as you could hope.

It has the full leather interior which i think essential on a Touring. There are times when i wish mine had the comfort seats not buckets (for easier access to the rear cabin to stuff bags etc). The only potential downer is the lack of PCCB's, but as you say some might not see that as a negative. Quite like the colour and Mid Sussex are a decent bunch. Think they have had it for a month or two so might be worth a cheeky bid.

If used primarily on the road, that's what I'd go for, without a doubt.

Lovely spec, but the last GT3 touring to sell on Collecting Cars was at £175k-ish. Another £50k seems a bit toppy?

I had a 991.2 Touring from new.
Pretty looking cars, obviously with the GT3 capabilities.
But, never found it particularly engaging or enjoyable as a regular road car in the UK.
The Sports (aka ‘comfort’) seats would help, but there seem to be so many with low mileage and several owners. Why are so few ‘keepers’?
As others have suggested elsewhere - I’d rather have a new 992 T, with the right options, for ‘touring’ and use it to the fullest. Not to mention the more comfortable financial considerations.

Price is insane compared to winged car , you are paying 80k to not have a wing ?

Mine is definitively a keeper. However, my GT3s are used as dailies and vanilla 911s do leave me cold

Mine turns 5 years old this March, i specced it and am the 1st and only owner. Long may that continue, no inclination to trade it for a new one. Much rather daily mine than a new 992 turbo or T etc, the new ones feel more cumbersome and have an excess of tech for my tastes.

The price differential is madness i agree, but it’s a reflection of numbers built i guess. If you want one badly enough….

Snap and snap.

Mines 5 in March, only me as the owner and driver, nothing new from Porsche would make me swap.

No inclination or desire to swap the Touring for anything else. Just keen to add more miles and smiles over the coming years.

Someone must be doing a ducktail option for less than £80k at this stage smile

There are…but no option to add official Porsche warranty as won’t cover. So not an option for me.
