Its a better road car than it is a track car, turn off all the gadgets and appreciate the grip and chassis and give it the respect it deserves.
Its far to heavy to be a top track car,its good on track but hard on expensive consumables, sounds great.
Changing a battery for a few kg is not worth it unless its part of a drastic weight reduction of say 120kg,or you just want to!.Having been through many rs versions with weight reduction projects,i got my 993rs down to 1130 kg and increased bhp by 80,made it a wicked car that i owned for 10 years. It you think its a track car,may be if you have not tried it yet,get into a race car and see the difference, chalk and cheese.
What a rs wp is,its a great road car you can drive to a track and Have great fun with and drive home again, nothing more nothing less, not in the slightest interested in lap times in mine.

To be fair, Cup1s like per the E46 csl were quite a different matter. Those were genuinely quite an issue in wet/cold conditions and really a world apart from the cup2 which is remarkably good in suboptimal conditions imo.993rsr said:

Interesting, thanks. I recently bought a 2nd hand, 991.2 GT3 that unfortunately came with Dunlop’s and I’ve just swapped over to Cup 2’s - the car needed setting up properly as it wasn’t right for some reason and I thought It sensible to do both things at the same time.
A huge indulgence really as the car (2.5 years old) has literally only done 160 miles (isn’t that incredible).
If anyone wants a set of Dunlop’s that have done 160 miles to wear out on the track, let me know as they are for sale - as you can clearly see from Yellows review above - he thinks they are a brilliant tyre and so much better than the Cup 2’s
I had the gen 1 Dunlops on my GT3 and pretty good tyre until the road got wet when any confidence you had evaporates..In all fairness both the Dunlops and Cups are useless when wet compared to MP4Ss which are amazing..A huge indulgence really as the car (2.5 years old) has literally only done 160 miles (isn’t that incredible).

Being a bit optimistic on Cup 1s turned my car into a crushed coke can (lack of talent might have played a role in that)... I think I posted the pic before (red 997 GT2). Had them replaced on the RS I bought before even picking it up (with Cup 2)rkwm1 said:

Has it ever been snapped testing in anger at a track with that wing? Looks preposterous and bigger than the wing on a 991 cup car. Might be a road test mule with a stupid wing that doesn’t really matter to wind everyone up. I was always a bit conscious of the wing on the 991RS when driving about, but if that’s what the 992 looks like I’ve got zero interest in it, regardless of how good it might be.
Stop whingeing ! us track guys want aero Porsche looks like its giving us what we want! sod the frunk, never used it in my .2 GT3RS anyway.
I do think the GT3 on the other hand looks wonderful, having the current 992 TurboS, took it on track the other day at silverstone have to say brakes are a huge step on, modulation is now far superior to 991's PCCB, the let down was the Pirelli tyre, and you cant get away from the weight of the thing now..
It will be very interesting to see how Porsche reduce the weight on 992 GT3 and RS

Drive my 991.2 RS a fair bit , 11 k miles and yes sometimes the wing is a bit much , but at least it keeps my wife out of the car generally . But being black all the other stuff is not so visible .
But still every trip a few people come up and say , nice car ....OK nearly all guys .
Think this may a step too far though

Agree... I truly hope this is not it; If I wanted a track car only, fair enough.I do not.
I will cancel if this is the product.
