When you drive the Targa, try the wind deflectors two positions. Most don’t know how different it is.
On mine, I liked it with deflector in the down position and the windows open about an inch. It really does change the buffeting.

I wish I had not sold mine, and that was for a GT3!

stretching the man maths somewhat and may have to sign a "I will keep the car for x years" for the wife to be on side.

No knowledge of the Targa and adjustments above but on my 997 Targa, and also my NA MX5, I have found the little adjustments of this and that, window heights etc can make a remarkable difference to buffeting - especially when only a driver on board. (less so with two up.)
