There's got to be a legal mechanism for doing that, and typically when the state takes something from private individuals that process is nationalisation of the asset, service, etc etc.

I didn't pick you for a socialist, Melvyn, but these are surprising times we live in.
Far from it, so let's stick to driving.

For me if a car doesn’t have those “must haves” I personally wouldn’t buy it and cars thus equipped are the most expensive. So I’d say if you can find a car with those items and a few of the nice to haves for less than £120k its a cheap car as we stand today.
Is no LED's really a deal breaker for a GT3 ?

Still only interested in 1 car GT4
But with the rain we have had lately not sure buying one just nw is a good idea a as temptation will mean I will want to drive it and lack of skill will probably mean a disaster on the scale of Top Gear last night lol
So I will keep looking as 911R has wisely said that more cars will come on the market and the price will drop and two be fair he is right
Many , but not all , GT4 cars not selling on autotrader
Some people don't want to sell to me as "I live to far away". One guy wanted to sell his car I met his asking price but wanted the deal done on a Sunday. I mean come on how the hell do I do near £70K transition on a Sunday FFS . Another said it was easier to just trade his GT4 in for a 991 GTS at a dealer .
So being me ( 1/2 Asian and 1/2 Scottish = Tighter than super glue) I will keep to my budget and just wait til the right car comes up

Also have a couple of personal issues going on ( brother in Law has cancer but getting better and one of staff's son was involved on a bad crash and he is in a coma in ICU and his passenger is dead has shook me up a bit TBH )

But will keep you all posted as I am ermined ( but not in a hurry anymore) to get a nice Gt4

So far definitely prices coming down and more choice, but rivers just overflowing with rain that has not stopped for last 2 weeks I think

I live in an area with no street lights so to me it is important as I do sometimes go for an evening drive. I also got carried away when I specced mine so maybe I am not the best person to ask smile When these cars were new a good spec car would have been about £130k....with some cars getting up to £140k. Base price was circa £110k.

I suppose what I would say about those “must haves” is that it’s that spec that gets the top money. If you don’t want/need it that’s great as there’s more cars to choose from and you may get a car slightly cheaper.

well we have gone from 3* something 981 GT4 to 46 on AT so def more cars.

No nice ones yet under £67k though imo but then none are selling either.
But I would still go for a 718 GT4 under list from an OPC in your shoes at £85k unless you can get into a manual 991.2 GT3.

I know what you mean about the lights. I stay in a small village and once out the village there is no lights and a good set of lights are great but I find Xenon ok but obviously Led is far superior

Do you really think the new 718 is worth the extra? I am swaying towards a newer one and one has come up but it has no Dual climate which I would really like . But dealer is willing to negotiate ( a little ) on price. But we are still talking £94K

Let me know what you think of this spec as it is coming into Uk for end of the month

Our GTS macan has standard Xenon pdls lights, our 991.2 4s has the upgraded LED lights. Led lights make a world of difference in my opinion. But I do have to wear glasses for driving 🤣

If you travel along poorly lit roads I would definitely look for a car with LED.

If I am lucky to spec one I will definitely go for a car with LED and if I can get one with LED then it is even better, thanks

No nearly new low miles GT4s below £90k and the only 2 OPC cars at under £85k is a comfort still over list ££ and a 1 year old 3k miler in the ubiquitous black.

A nice spec gt4 with 918 buckets and some nice trimmings would have a on the road cost when new around 87k to 90k. So I guess these are pretty much list price cars.

many people love black. screw nearly new, all 718 GT4 are nearly new :-).

Leema cars has a del mile red car reduced.

I could not pay circa £95k on the 718, it's not worth it. def be looking at the £85k market and you will find these will hold more money in 3 years over the £100k cars today.

£94k for a car sans PCCB, not for me.
