Our GTS macan has standard Xenon pdls lights, our 991.2 4s has the upgraded LED lights. Led lights make a world of difference in my opinion. But I do have to wear glasses for driving ??

If you travel along poorly lit roads I would definitely look for a car with LED.
If I am lucky to spec one I will definitely go for a car with LED and if I can get one with LED then it is even better, thanks

Ok went to Aberdeen OPC today to look at a GT4 (which it turned was not there has they "forgot" it had gone to the bodyshop for a minor touch up)
Anyway got taking about 718 GT4 v 991.1 GT3 and they reckon that the 991.1 GT3 with engine replaced should be no problem at all now.
Is this true as I just hear horror stories about he engine but no one know whats the issue is / was ?
Are they maybe worth a punt now ?

Having owned a 991.1 GT3 from new and now a 991.2 GT3 I would take the view not unlike Mclarens they receive bad Press mostly undeserved and you only tend to hear the horror internet stories.

Yes the gen 2 is a marked improvement particularly in the engine department and torque together with power drop off to the 9k red line is much more noticeable in the gen 1 than gen 2.

But they are fantastic value if you like PDK S which is a great gearbox and if you compare a 2015 good spec cs 981 GT4 and a 2015 good spec cs 991.1 GT3 with the later engine for another c £15k to £20k there really is no contest the GT3 is easily worth the extra ££.
What you say is what the OPC and specialists seem to say. yes there were issues with a batch of engines , but now sorted and if you if you willing to see past the social media worry about the engines, you do get a 10 year warranty , then they are great buys
