Agreed. I fear that it is now or never if I am to switch, but cars like that, trading well above their new sale price and with low mileage are very much the preserve of collector's or those with a good chunk of cash.

Taking something with just 14k miles and starting to thrash it around tracks, I'd likely double the previous 10 year's mileage in less than half that time and, in the process, wipe a chunk of value off it too...
This is the double-edged sword I would be fearful of with an RS, and suspect I would use the car less as a result. My car owes me nothing, and I can bear any depreciation that usage or global economic collapse can throw at me, but sadly the same could not be said if I took the plunge on a 7.2RS.

I'm also not sure I could part with my current car - even if the silver lining came in the form of a 7.2RS, so I'd have to have both laugh

that silver GT3 which sold on CC, will be on CC again next month so I am told.
Yes, Porsche911R, I’ve enjoyed the car, 718Spyder arriving next month so selling CS. As the previous seller sold during lockdown he couldn’t get the car checked by official Porsche centre. The car now has 111 point check, new front discs & pads, new Porsche battery as they wouldn’t issue warranty without one! zero Rev range issues, 12month transferable warranty and major Porsche service.

No problem. Now I'm asking a favour of PH; anyone know this car at JZM?

https://www.facebook.com/JZMPorsche/posts/36107686...
JZM car is: White CS, 13k miles @ £164,900
https://www.jzmporsche.com/used-vehicle-details/Po...

RPM car is: White CS, 16,5k miles @ 167,995
https://rpmtechnik.co.uk/sales/vehicle/997-2-gt3rs...

And this (if it's genuine and available), White CS, @ 1,398 miles @ £169,995
http://www.missionprestige.co.uk/car_item/porsche-...

You'd want a full check on the last one, but could be free motoring compared to the other two...

RPM car lists as having front axle lift, which JZM car does not appear to have. May explain/justify price difference.

Really not sure about other car - not originally UK registered either.

This is the dilemma.

Plus, the next fe years are anything but certain!

The one thing lockdowns have taught me is that I think I want more of my disposable going on doing rather than just owning. Not gearing up for the next thing gives a lot more scope for road trips, trackdays an the like.

But then still....

2 trains of thought:

No regrets, you can't take it with you and you certainly won't be wishing you'd driven your GT3 (RS if you're lucky enough) less when you're on your deathbed.

If you spend it now, you'll never have it when you need it or the opportunity arises to achieve your dream.

I (perhaps stupidly) am closer to the first one but try to keep an eye on the 2nd, it has tempered my habits to a point...

Best of luck and health in whatever you decide!

Well spotted sir. Shall we hazard a guess as to a value?

£50k id wager.
It’s got to be worth more than 50k
Bert Bert car looks to be in a strong position to break the 50k mark tonight, already on 48k and seems to have a number of interested parties already bidding.

Could be a great usable buy for someone if it stays in the mid to high 50k bracket.

Goes to show these cars are really designed to do the miles.

Looks in great condition to considering it’s mileage and would be a massive saving over some of the cars which have sat unsold at high 70s for more than the best part of the year.

Fascinating to watch this, whilst conversely, 991.1 GT3's are dipping beneath the £80k mark.

Mulled this constantly over weekend. Ran the numbers countless times. Also spoke to a few good mates (for whom the discussion of the respective car's values would not be awkward) and the consensus was "stick".

I've spent a good chunk on my own car and now how it works and am happy with it. Another significant factor for me, is that it's not so valuable that when it rained at the last Silverstone track day, I once worried about lapping in the downpour. It's not cheap, but it's also not going to ruin me, so when I'm driving it, the value is not even in the back of my mind. It's a non-issue.

I think the junction is being crossed.

Onwards towards adjustable suspension!

Dunno, it's tricky. Ohlins have a good name and KW seem to have some very nice 911 specific packages, but also like the way the Nitrons have all remote adjusters, so you don't have to grub around under the wheelarches. Going to harvest ideas!

Speak to the lads at Fearnsport Marcus, they've fitted Nitrons on a a few Porsche GT cars now. They were diehard Ohlins disciples previously, but they seemed very impressed with the kit Nitron produces when I last discussed it with them.

Cunno has a good set up on his, with remote adjusters, can’t remember exactly which brand or spec.

Could give Intrax a try, I’ve found them very good but admittedly not had them on a 911.
Cheers

Thanks. Yes, I've heard a few good reports of Nitrons.

Will keep an eye out for him and other 997.1s at track days.

Of course, to add yet more choice, there's alos Exetec to consider too.

Seems the prices for the decent 3-way adjustable stuff are all pretty much of a muchness. This will be my 2021 project!

Only thing doing this year is the exhaust tips; since I've had side JCR silencer delete and had to have a new OEM back box (long story) I'll put a set of JCR tips on at some point soon.

I would be looking at https://www.jrzsuspension.com/ and just the "JRZ RS TWO" if TTX money was not on the table.

Again Nitron NTR RACE R3 gets expensive as do EXE-TC.

many many choices. I like simple TTX 2 ways, high quality and only 2 ways.

All depends on £££ and if you want 3/4 ways.

I think I would go JRZ RS TWO and spend the rest on RS4.0 LWF and short final drive or a set of OZ wheels etc.

Not a bad point.

There is the 'theoretical' range of adjustment, versus that actual range you ever find effective. Plus - from personal experience - as a one-man-pit amateur trackdayer, you can have too many parameters to play with and spend more time faffing than enjoying driving.
