Here it s the dilemma
Currently driving a 2014 991 C4S
3.8 NA , manual, 12,000 miles.
weekend only car, been to Silverstone Porsche training, Millbrook proving ground, several alpine passes.
a great great car. absolutely love it. Not the fastest but the NA + manual combination for me it is great.

I tried the 991.2 and was not over impressed.
my question is, upgrade mine to what ??

not keen to go down to 3 litre turbo engine of new 992.
Ideally I would like a manual.
seems the only natural step up is a GT3 ??

never tried a proper Turbo though

Keep it or go 991.1 GTS or 991.1 GT3 with a new Porsche engine that resolves the engine issues

I had a 2014 991.1 4S and last year (2019) upgraded to a 2018 Targa 4 GTS. The 3 litre engine has so much more pulling power and is much more flexible. Not keen on the 992 (the rear break light among many things put me off) so not sure what I will buy next in a couple of years time. Possibly a DB11 or Ferrari Roma

991.1 GTS manual sounds like it would be perfect for you - had mine for 18 months and it’s a definite step up from the S / 4S.. feels more special with the powerkit, centrelocks, alcantara interior etc. Slower than all the turbo / PDK options but sounds like you appreciate the N/A manual combo.. unless you can stretch to a 991.2 GT3 manual of course which would be about £50k more

Curious why miss out the 991.1 GT3?

Beyond the straight line party trick it's a bit of a dull car. Only really engaging at warp speed. Just my opinion.
