Would sir like to upgrade all that matt black plastic to high gloss black or carbon ?
I just dont know but imo for a car for this money it looks cheap as does the plastic vents on the new Turbo.Perhaps Porsche is the new Ferrari, you are only paying for the engine the rest is free.

Haven’t watched all of the vid but AP mentions the first 200 996 RS’s have special engines...never heard that before.
That was my key takeaway from that video (well and that I really enjoy listening to both of those guys) - always wanted a 996 RS, now I want one of the first 200 .... just because av185 said:
Pity the 992 has lost the individual engine lid air scoops which look great imo especially against light colours.
AP says that they are not required and actually disturb the effectiveness of the rear wing. The new rear engine lid and duck tail manage airflow coming off the roof much better and the lid ducts/scoops arent necessary.
I read this earlier in the motortrend article.

Go to 28mins for the reveal of Shark Blue. 28:30 for a glimpse of the un-camo'd rear.
I loved the way AP forced Chris Harris to publicly say that he likes the new swan neck design (he may or may not do, we don’t know). Go to 28mins for the reveal of Shark Blue. 28:30 for a glimpse of the un-camo'd rear.
Also, AP didn’t know the colour of the car, other than it was blue! Not really part of his remit really, why should he even care!

Im sure some on here hope and dream that AP listens to them
I would say it would be a complete redesign with a subframe mount, or similar, the rsr route is far to expensive for production, the rsr has hand fabricated wheel carriers and wishbones at over 20k a corner without the trick dampers, good news it will be wishbone front, may be even drop the need for rear wheel steer.
Yes, the RWS thing did cross my mind as well. Agreed on the front end. Its far too expensive to incorporate an RSR front end. My guess is that they keep it pretty much as it is now with the damper pick up points where they are so the main torsional loadings are in the same location and then fabricate the top wishbone pick up points around that. I suppose thats only viable if the geometry works in conjunction with the bottom wishboneI would say it would be a complete redesign with a subframe mount, or similar, the rsr route is far to expensive for production, the rsr has hand fabricated wheel carriers and wishbones at over 20k a corner without the trick dampers, good news it will be wishbone front, may be even drop the need for rear wheel steer.
It will be interesting to see how they have gone about it

In Autocar online today there's an article on the first ride in the 992GT3. They claim that AP told them the 992GT3 has the exact power as the Speedster at 510PS(503bhp). He also said the emissions regs are stricter on the new GT3 to comply with new rules during the GT3's production cycle.
Found the bit in the vid a bit bizarre about the new pdk stick being able to tip as if it was something new .That rear wing looks terrible and will prob change again before launch. What's with the new tyres with no flanges, Ive never liked tyres without them but that's a personal thing, is there a reason?
Nice little addition with shift lights on the dash, could never understand P not putting a hud on the windsreen, think R said it was because of to much curve .
Same engine as the .2 GT3 I think I am correct in saying, if it is then its a cracker and proven.Don't think RWS was mentioned, hope its included as its settled and planted the car on the road.
Sounds better than the .2 from what I've heard, and that's with the filters.
Don't like the bonnet at all, prefer the other by far.
Like the new tyre sizes but prob won't make a 315 in 20.
Price at 122 base touching 150 with the must-haves,
All the negs taken into consideration, it will be a belter.

Personally, I like the extra ‘sequential’ shift on the pdk. Would make me consider pdk (a bit), rather than paddles.
Blue rim stripes a bit of low point.
Ah.. that room of GT models. Lovely.
AP comes across well.

Rear end still looks like a design mess to me.
May all work in the metal - looking forward to seeing it .

Yes, the room is superb and I really liked the discussion of the prior GT3 and RS models. It really does sum up the fact that Porsche see them as all being individually significant and worthy of attention.AP comes across well.
We forget now, how many 'firsts' porsche have brought to the production car world; Alcantara trim, carbon bonnets etc. etc.
AP does come across well. I like the way he talked about the M3 CS being a worthy competitor to the 996.
