Does anyone have any experience of ACC cutting in unexpectedly- ie when there is no slowing traffic ahead.
A friend of mine has a new S class Merc and it occasionally applies the brakes, usually at slow speeds, but always when there is no reason.
MB say it is not an issue they are aware of and cant adjust the sensitivity.
My AMG GTR was prone to doing that occasionally when driving fast on tight roads with armco railing. It would slam on the brakes and the seat belt tensioners suddenly. I've had it happen a couple of times in my M5 too. I figured a bird or something triggered the distance radar.

Great news. May I ask when you put the deposit down and when you got the nod that your car was going for build in May?

I put my deposit down 6 months ago and called in to my dealer a few days before Christmas and they said they still didn’t know their allocation for the coming quarter, Blaming Brexit, Covid might have an effect on build etc.

Surely this is nonsense and are fobbing me off?
My deposit was placed July 2020 but with an amazing dealership, lets hope your deposit isn't with Lovetts because they simply don't care banghead

No definitely not Lovetts. Hopefully with my previous purchases (which have all been stock cars) and a trade in involved will help. Finding it hard to be patient! smile

It thinks you are going to hit the armco .. as it's not like bending lights, the radar doesn't bend with the road

Interesting. What is your use like? Family? Commuting? Country roads?

I was impressed with the Taycan. With the 911 feeling more GT-like with each generation I thought a Taycan might be a better buy.
Two very good cars that do things differently and have overlaps . I had my Taycan the 1st day after the 1st lock down ended and covered over 3k in mainly dry conditions.

1 . Taycan is a big 5m by 2 m . Even by new 911 that is a substantially bigger car . I had a base 992 just b4 so saw the difference in the garage and on the road.

2 . My wife loved to drive the Taycan , people smiled and stopped to ask about the car . Even today A 911 gets some negativity.

3 The youth’s love the modern car . They associate with what it’s raision d’etre. Fanciful sentence that Taycan is the modern car.

4 Taycan hides its weight until it can’t .when pressing on , Coming into roundabouts from a hill always needed more care .

5 When pushing on on public roads 911 messages more . Ie more fun but more tiring .

I tested a TTS at PEC and almost cancelled my order .it just lacked something . That something was it looked no different from my base 992 . But the 650BHP was intoxicating. Give me 3 months of TTS and I’ll tell you wish of the 3 I prefer.

Then again I always smile stepping out of the Macan .

Porsche are clever they will find a way to address your every peccadillo

Another reason i moved the car on was the way it delivered its power, which was all or nothing still. I enjoyed my 992 C4S more as a every day driver, and just though a 170k TTS a bit dull other than the mind bending Launches.

I have a TS on order for March build, I have spec'd the Sport Pack and looking to also add the Light Weight pack with the buckets (it seems the buckets are the issue as I can select the LW pack with the standard seats- however this is pointless) Any ideas as to when it will be selectable? My dealer is unsure as its the same on their system. My spec locks in the next few weeks so fingers crossed...

A 992 GT3 would be very nice but you have to be a very special customer with the dealer, ie have bought a lot of Porsches, before they will accept your order. If you are lucky enough to get one, however, it will appreciate in value. For that reason many are bought by speculators, which makes it even harder for true enthusiasts to get hold of one.

Yes, I'm fully aware and have had several GT3 and RS cars plus multiple other Porsche cars over the years. Cheers

A friend had this happen on a GLC63S. I’m still waiting for it to happen to me. Out of interest, did it scare the **** out of you?

He asked when the sport pack was going to be selectable as an option, and I don't think he posted before that.

Paid my deposit for my 992 TTS back in Oct last year and still have no date to lock the spec in !!
Seems like it won’t be until June this year if I’m lucky then delivery early 2022 !!!
Have a GT3 rs already and between Xmas & new year bought a GT2 rs but haven’t driven it yet due to salty roads etc. I’ll hang on until I get some concrete dates from Porsche but if I have to wait until 2022 I may well cancel as I can’t be arsed to wait that long....
