laugh yep, welcome to the PistonHeads forum laugh!! Normally it’s not who gets their car first causes the arguments, it’s who has the best optioned car and lowest miles or why theirs has better residuals because it’s the purist lightweight option for track, which in itself is hilarious because they never drive them on track, you couldn’t make this s3it up!

It’s unfortunate that, if you do visit this forum, you have to sift through all the egotistical, opinion-based-as-fact, and vested-interest posts, to find anything of meaningful value

More fiction than fact, most of the time rolleyes

Haven’t read anything yet that makes me want a 992GT3.

New double wishbone suspension would be an improvement, but not significant for a 991.2 owner?

Faster, just as light as the last one, double wishbones, more downforce, less drag so better performance down the straights, less sound deading so more Motorsport in the cabin, better brakes.

If you track a GT3 bar the new RS this is the car to own, it will pay you back in tyre wear alone.

Does it suit a manual now , maybe not, it’s a tough one for the people on the list what box to choose, but you have to go PDK I think.

I think if you own the manual 991.2 car then you bought that for a reason, if you bought a PDK for the performance then the 992 will kill even the old RS WP car.

So again if you are the rich show off type the old RS WP is very out of date and laps slower and at £200k bad value vs the 992 performance.

We can forget the 992 RS I think that car will be over £200k list
Maybe even £250k and super rare. So for the normal punter the 992 GT3 is the car to be seen in at these high end Silverstone track days and will be the fastest cars.

What if you are not “the rich show off type” and bought the RS WP because you like it, what do these people do, sell their cars, Keep them or maybe hang their heads in shame?

Your RIght

I'm distraught just don't know what to do,the mere thought that a 992GT3 will pulverise my RS WP gives me sleepless nights but never mind i'll be keeping it anyway

And what do those people that own poultry 997 RS's do, maybe they should just take those straight to the breakers yard..

Anyway 911R's whole theory is flawed. If you want light buy a 560kgs slicks and wings race car which makes a 992GT3 look like an EV School bus

Please FFS no more comparisons about 10kgs here or there making a World defining difference on a treaded tyre road car, what a load of bks

The 992GT3 will be a brilliant car which makes it an even bigger shame very very few of the first ones will get properly driven. As far as my RS WP goes, its still a brilliant car and very rare which will always make it more special then any 992GT3 IMO.
I really like the look of the 992GT3 and if wasn't fortunate to own an RS WP then i'd be beating down the doors of my OPC to get an allocation. A fairer comparison would be against a non WP RS from the first batch without the special bits like CF ARBs, Ti cage and Mag rims.
If i decide to get a 992 Touring then i'd have to sell my RS as i can't justify two new GT 911s both financially or usage. If its not absolutely sensational then i'll keep my RS. No rights or wrongs, just different strokes for different folks.!

Yep I’m with you on that Taffy. Hard to sell the RS that’s for sure. I would consider it for a touring though, I think.

there are right and wrongs if you want the faster track car and less money on tyres to run a track car.
the new cars now got a RSR front end !

The new GT3 is the old RS and then some

the new 992 RS , well think of that as the swan song car like the 997 4.0l car.

So the most mainstream faster car will be the 992 Gt3, that's black and white with a lucky select few allowed the 992 RS.

Special don't come into it unless you get a 992 RS allocation. your Special just = slower ! :-) ego denting but that's how things move on I guess.

Hey R, the limiting factor on how quick my RS is or a 992 is won’t be the car, I can assure you of that!

With regard to 992GT3 cars being not "driven properly" from what I recall a lot more 991.1 and 2 GT3 owners acutely used their cars and were not afraid to put decent miles on them across both road and track use. It was the RS owner's that kept their cars at almost Del miles. As this new car is not so much about a power increase Ie its more about chassis and suspension, Braking upgrades, I would expect quite a few 992GT3 owners to take advantage of these upgrades with track use, that's if they are open.

Gents apologies are due from myself regarding yesterday out of character outburst, which is not like myself however 911R constantly tries to belittle us fellow forum members and I had enough of it.

I should not of bought myself down to that level.

On a lighter note still hopeful for the 26th reveal!

Out of interest, how many, if any at all track days have taken part in your 991.2 gt3 ?..

I somehow doubt people’s choice will be based on saving, what, £355 a year on front tyres laugh

Porsche 992GT3 which was originally meant to be officially revealed on the 26th has been delayed until Feb 16th. This is blamed on Covid delaying some parts which will delay production for a month or so. Have read this from a poster on Rennlist who is always correct as he has very close links with the Porsche Factory Motorsport on a first hand personal basis.
Probably where MrD gets his info from if he admitted it rather than playing secret squirrel.redcardreadit

Will the already small front boot be rendered all but useless with the front vent and double wishbone suspension.?

Hopefully still big enough for a carry on case, plus a soft bag on top!

I think I read somewhere that the new suspension did not affect the size of the front boot.

Who spends over £150k on a new motor to save a few quid on tyre wear........now read that back to yourself without laughing. I mean honestly.....
