Those filters are working nicely, buddy
Sounds a lot like my 718 GT4...
991.2 values, through the roof now

Stick them away, do not drive them, only get them out to polish and clean, haha
Have to say that sounds really poor and the politest thing I can say is; looks aren’t growing on me frown

Fine, if its your first ever GT3. Happy days then.

The quality of the tune us probably still there but obviously not the volume. Once the novelty wore off, I never switched on the sports exhaust on my 991.2 GT3. I can hear enough inside the car - why should the public have to be disturbed by my car reving to 9000 rpm or warbling and popping through a village?
We are lucky enough to have fabulous cars we don't have to shout about it.

I never gone to 9000rpm through a shopping high street, absolutely not.

You can also, still, enjoy SE at much much lower revs.

Lets not confuse the mostly beautiful melodies of Porsche authentic engine noise and exhausts with the highly irritating hideous chavviness and fakery of moronic farty pop can brapp brapp exhausts which as we all know belong on the Council thread. biggrin:

I would definitely have a ‘comfort spec’ Touring (I think it’s going to look very nice without the wing). PDK and comfy seats. Would be my daily. Edit - but would not sell my 991 to make that happen.

I belong on the council thread! Exhaust (or induction) noise is absolute critical part of my enjoyment. Whether from being younger and having an Astra with Janspeed exhaust or my previous 991.2 GT3, with the scream at the top end. In fact, I wished the GT3 was louder at lower revs. An example of why Iike it loud was reminded to me yesterday, with a relative slow ride out as traffic busy. As my car is loud and pops etc at slow speeds, I thoroughly enjoyed the day out. If I want it quite (never do) then I turn exhaust vales on. Just hearing a good loud car from a distance pricks my ears up as
Each to our own of course.

The exhaust button on the GT3 is nothing more than a con.

Haha yes nothing wrong with authentic engine noises its the increasing pop farty bang fakery that obvs grates for most.

The 991.2 GT3 certainly has a great repertoir of induction noises right up to the red line missing on some previous Porsche GTs which certainly compensates for the relatively subued exhaust note externally at low speeds at least. The 718 GT4 also has far more induction theatre than the 981 which nevertheless has great exhaust noise particularly at low speeds despite its basic engine. My 991.2 GT3 is stock and on both induction and exhaust is just about perfect for me at least. Quite a few disconnected the exhaust valve acctuator on the 991.1 but this resulted in droning. One side only may be about right for some I guess although unaware if anyone has tried this.

I never use it normally but have tried it the last few times and I do admit I am wondering what it actually does ?

Makes the exhaust note much more sweeter. Even on tick over. Mines on all the time, when engine temp up and ready.

You never use it?

All it does is open the exhaust valves at low revs rather than the default 4k rev setting. Above 4k it makes no difference whatsoever. PSEs are a waste of money IMO at nearly £2k on normal non GT Porsches.

I was sure it did make a difference to the opening of valves above 4k

I double check that, as I say, mine is on virtually all the time.

What is the exhaust button promising but not delivering? Since you can't buy a GT3 without it I'm struggling to see how I've been conned by a button.

I have tried it when ragging it and I can't hear a difference .I like to be as discrete as I can be when I don't have a lovely empty country road to play on so it never goes on when ambling around,I will give it a try though .

These new engines with the ITBs need to get through their “engine running in process “ (for me was around after around 4 tracks days on RS, and 1700 Miles on Speedster) as indicated via the blue light on start up, before they sound their best then they really come on song sound wise, based on my experiences.
