Moot. It's pretty well accepted that a road car that goes well at the 'Ring is going to work extremely well both on road or any other circuit. That is why it's such a benchmark - the variety of turns is a pretty good test.

In fact, if you were to pick a UK circuit closest to the 'Ring, arguably Oulton is one of the prime candidates. Most different would almost certainly be Silverstone GP circuit.

Harris has already gone on record saying word to the effect of:
The GT3 horsepower war passed beyond what most road/trackday drivers could use ages ago.
In his personal opinion, the high-water mark for the GT3 was either the 997.2 Rs or 991.2 GT3 manual.

I AM SORRY THIS IS NOT CORRECT, THE RING IS ABOUT FLOWING CORNERS AND CARRYING CORNER SPEEDS IN EXCESS OF 120MPH WHERE THE NEW HIGHER LEVELS OF DOWNFORCE WILL HELP, BUT AT OULTON PARK YOU WILL NOT DO MORE THAN 70MPH AROUND MOST CORNERS AND THE FASTEST YOU WILL GO DOWN THE STRAIGHT IS 130MPH. AT ANGLESEY IT IS EVEN WORSE, MOST CORNERS YOU DO NOT GET UP TO 50 MPH ON CHURCH THE FASTEST CORNER ON THE TRACK I ONLY RECORD A PEAK SPEED OF 86MPH. SO I STAND BY WHAT I SAY A CAR DESIGNED FOR THE RING IS NOT NECESSARILY GOING TO BE FASTER AROUND A UK TRACK. BUT LETS SEE, 20TH APRIL IS THE DATE FOR THE RELEASE OF PRESS EMBARGO. IT MAKES IT ALL VERY INTERESTING. MY BET IS THERE WILL BE NO LAP TIME IMPROVEMENT AS LONG AS THEY USE THE SAME NON R CUP 2 TYRES.
Now you type that all in capitals, it really does make me question my original post.

Oulton and Ring have undulating and rough surfaces and so have similarities.

992 GT3, using the new double-wishbone front end was always going to bring improvements on track.

Digga,

Don't read anything into me typing in capitals.
I could not work out how to highlight what you have said and to allow posters to differentiate between the two sets of comments I typed mine in capital letters.

I just think sometimes this chasing a ring time that they get obsessed with is not always the best idea.

I'm thick skinned. No offence taken.

I think the 'Ring is useful, a.) because it as so many different sorts of corners, b.) because it is quite road like in surface and c.) it is, simply put 'a' benchmark. But I agree, the utility gets lost and too many firms cheat or obfuscate, and yes, get obsessed.

It's also not really an arbiter of fast track laps for, say, Silverstone where there are much smoother, higher speed turns.

Exactly what the onboards of my OPF RS sounds like. Id say it is a touch louder than mine though, but that could easily be better mic and mic position. If I was to guess they have tweaked the back box post opf to make it a bit louder.

Was thinking it may well have a rear delete on it, if it has then no probs with sound as that sounded the business .

What the OPF 991.2 3RS missed from the 991.2 pre OPF was the louder idle and the pops when decelerating. But from 4,000 rpm onwards and in the magic 8,000-9,000 rpm, it sounded to me as loud. The rev at idle was also limited at 4,000 rpm. So no early morning or late evening mound rev in the garage or triggering other cars alarms🤣

Be interesting to know what proportion of UK 991.2 GT3 RS were ordered in Python as it appears to be the default colour choice.

Subsequent edit it appears that 61 P Green UK cars reg in 2018 so around half!

Does anyone here have a firm delivery date for their 992 GT3? I am hearing from my dealer that delivery now in 3rd or 4th quarter and there are shortages across the whole model range. Anyone else heard different?
