There’s a certain edge missing, isn’t there? I do feel it will be a great car, but also that we’re past peak now.
Will they be able to remove the filters with synthetic fuels? Maybe for 992.2. Be good if Porsche can avoid hybridization for 911https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/technology-news...
That will give proof of concept in a very public way. BUT needs mass manufacturing and effective sponsorship from many involved parties for it to become a realistic proposition on a price basis for road users. Way too expensive for the man on the street to use unless massive volume produced.
Porsche have already said there's a hybrid coming for 992.2...which "will be the most powerful 911 ever"...I assume a Turbo S on steroids.
Spoke to my OPC today on another matter and i asked how many 992GT3s they're getting this year. He answered just two for 2021 and expect significant delays as the Porsche factory are experiencing huge delays due to the Covid situation in Germany. Not just GT3s but all Porsches with an 18 month lead time on any normal 992 ordered today.
