Ditto. Really chuffed on the way it looks. Really looking forward to picking mine up sometime later in the year or start of 2022. Enquired today on whether i could get it in PTS, maybe wishful thinking but no harm in asking.!
Heart says Manual but Head says PDK.!
I’m edging more towards manual if I get an allocation for 2022.

My instinct is comfort seats and PDK. My previous car was manual (obviously) and 918 buckets and, for me, was to harsh to do any proper ‘touring’ in. It was still a hard core track car (a very good one).

Isn't the 992 Touring going to be harsher than the 991.2 version, given the reviews of the non-Touring?

If you want something a little softer than the old car I don't think the new one fits that brief...

Fine if you have roads like the ones in the video on your doorstep, but most U.K. roads will frustrate GT3 ownership.
Hence the benefits of track use.

I expect it'll be firmer riding but if the new ZF dampers are all its cracked out to be then it should be OK. A lot of people think the Ferrari 812 too harsh for our B roads but i found it rode them very well. Different people have varying opinions on what a harsh ride is but personally i like a firmly sprung car as long as the damping compensates.

It's not the ride that was the issue, it was actually the seats - I could never get comfy in them. Hence the Comfort Seats this time around - and maybe PDK.

If you use a modicum of common sense and intend to use the Touring as intended then Comfort seats and PDK is the way to go IMO.

All day long. The touring is an experience. And for me, the buckets and manual transmission are a must. As much as I want stealth on the outside, I want maximum involvement when driving it. Even sat in traffic is enjoyable with the manual for me. That cabin filled with mechanical sounds and just shifting into first at the lights is a joy. PDK would feel wrong in this car.

I would go this as well, but aside from the 918 type buckets (are they an option I’ve not even looked ?)there is no wrong choice for the road.

You missed the bit about ''IF'' you had common sense as everyone who knows me will say i have absolutely zilch.biggrin
For that very reason alone i will get a Manual, LWBS and PCCBs as its the lightest spec and every kilo counts when i try and keep up with you on track.driving

Don't think it looks too bad actually, certainly better to my eyes than similar shots of de-winged 991 GT3s.

From AP on Instagram:

direkallan
The winged GT3 ducktail I think would enhance the Touring look. Any technical reasons why it can’t be optioned in the Touring?

ap_andypreuninger
@direkallan Because it does not work without the wing above and would throw the car significantly out of aerodynamical balance. DONT take off the wing on a GT3! Unless you want to stay below 70mph.....
