Has anyone been told they need to buy a watch to get a car?
I'm sure some have, but not me personally.Probably be more expensive than buying the watch.
Its the game you have to play to get them and the OPC make the rules up as they go along. It is what it is.
It is peanuts compared what you have to buy to get a Special edition Ferrari for example.

Interested to hear what those who have secured 992GT3 to date have as a buying history? Any thoughts on someone having bought a recent new GT4 and having a Macan on orders chances…?
I’d been trying unsuccessfully to get an allocation for at least 7 years and finally got one this year. I’ve bought 2 new turbos, 2 Macans and a Cayenne in the last 7 years but none of those cars were bought to secure an allocation. That said I think I’ve built a good relationship with the Porsche centre and they’ve always known I’ve wanted a GT3.

16 cars since 2014, all through same OPC - had up to 3 at one time on a couple of occasions. Also built up a very good relationship with the staff and regularly visit to have a coffee and chat - I am fortunate that the OPC is 500m from my office, lol Macca993 said:
Taffy. He said it already in his post :_-)
...."In the hands of good drivers".....
There is yet to be a GT3RS or GT2RS for that matter in our track group that is quicker than our best pilot in a 991 GT3. Good driving makes more seconds than a bit of aero and fancy new suspension LOL!
My RHD 992GT3 was manufactured in June - last five digits of VIN 66764 (be curious how that compares to Apollo and the others on here that already have one).
The car is currently on a ship crossing the Pacific (next stop Auckland). Im hoping to have it in four weeks. Its painful that it takes two months from leaving the factory to get to the other side of the world. I have 10x track days booked between Sept 26 and April 14 next year along with a 4000km tour of the South Island so Im hoping to have a better idea on how the car compares to 991.1 and 991.2 GT3 by then...
Mine was a May build, and was around 170 cars behind your VIN...."In the hands of good drivers".....

In all fairness he has 75K followers and been doing it for 5 years, so I wouldn't say he is a wannabe. Ok not quite Shmee subscriber levels but I'd say he is more 'be' than 'wannabe' https://youtu.be/KS6piEKUHOU
Interesting comments from today at SS , Tim Havey has both MR .2 RS and new 992 GT3 , thought the improvements were more minimal than made out in press , a mate who had his there , thought the front was so good and the back was a bit loose ( maybe too hot and tyre press issue ).... the look has definitely grown

I was offered one of the first 992 GT3s some 12 months back but subject to taking a new Panamera which would have dropped around £40k as soon as it left the showroom. I declined anyway as I like my manual 991.2 GT3CS too much but interestingly have been recently been offered another 992 GT3 allocation for next year if I want it this time without any strings attached as was also
the case with the 991.1 GT3 GT4s and Spyder. The only other new recent Porsche I bought was a Carrera T.
My cars are always sold back through my OPC and they always get the best money for me ££. They also do all the servicing any recalls and warranty work too.

Fully agree with your friend on this back end being a bit lose when pressing on in the fast corners. Setting the front and rear Aero to max DF fixes this, on the tyre pressures these new Cups on the 992 GT3 do get high very quick after one fast lap they are ready for a dial down, based on my time with them. terryb said:

Blimey. And all I had to do was buy a watch. I feel much better now. Thanks.terryb said:
