That's an interesting bit of info which explains the disparity between the early more track focused pre-production cars and customer cars. IIRC the first press tests were conduced exclusively on track and road driving was restricted to only some driving on the narrow perimeter roads.
Any reason you haven't posted your 992GT3's weight or did you not bother in the end.?
Apologies for the delay in corner weighing the car - it’s got onto the to do list..! Give me a weekAny reason you haven't posted your 992GT3's weight or did you not bother in the end.?

I agree that the white car looked good ... in fact I somehow managed to get into the middle of their test route as I was running in my GR Yaris !
Hi Chris. Hope you were going slower than you usually do in your mad GT4 to save the new 992Gt3 any embarrassment. Are you going to SS on the 16th as it would be good to catch up again ?I had mine set by suspension secrets on Friday whilst I was at Donington. I don’t have all the details but it’s a lot sharper now and the front end even more responsive. The front is -2.5 negative camber, that’s as aggressive as they can go on standard arms and mounts. The are very familiar with Porsche’s and mine was their third 992GT3 to date and one of 4 GT3/RS Porsche’s set up on the day.
It hasn’t ruined it’s behaviour on the road.

Tim Harvey who knows these cars inside out said the front end is not much different! don't get to taken in with the sales hype taffy.

Thanks Taff,No we were following a slower car (but I generally do drive quite slowly on the road) ... my brother in law was in front with his 30th Anniversary MX5 (another great car !) ... but we left space and the test GT3 worked his way through the road train very efficiently.
In fact I saw him coming towards me and flashed the 992 GT3 (which was instantly recognisable), and he turned around and came back !
I'm at Donnington on the 17th and am trying to get into Snetterton the following week ?

I love the look in White but i think yours looks even better. I'm surprised you've got so much negative front camber with the double wishbones. It must turn in like a scud missile.
Thanks for the great feedback.
Thanks, Im loving the all black look- it works very well with the plastic trim. Thanks for the great feedback.

I didn't take too much notice of the weight as I didn't hang around while it was set up as I was out in my friends RS. Tim Harvey who knows these cars inside out said the front end is not much different! don't get to taken in with the sales hype taffy.
Until you have driven one, I wouldn't be too sure that the front end is not too much different! I don't believe Tim has driven a properly set up one on track yet- however I'm happy for you to prove me wrong.
These cars are the next level and the new RS will move it up again. I get that some are not loving the look but you certainly can't question the way it drives...

Taffy. Great to hear you made it to our shores. We have had a lot of Brits immigrate in the 4-5 years before Covid and I think we will have a lot more come our way after Covid. There are great opportunities here for folk from the UK. A great percentage of our police force are now ex UK and many professional roles too (I hear British accents now when watching the news and they interview some specialist or expert on this or that). We have great driving roads (as you know but hopefully better than when you were last here) and more tracks per capita than almost anywhere (I think based on our ratio UK would need 56 to be equal!). Property is now expensive and cars from Europe cost more. Going to the track is cheaper than UK (fees and insurance). We still have a large Targa road competition too. Just a long way from anywhere when you send or receive a parcel!
I have just take delivery (last Friday) if my 992 GT3 & so far over the last 300 running in miles I have not been disappointed it is different to my previous 991.2 GT3 & I am getting used to all the front end grip. Can I get some advice from those who have tracked their cars already in preparation for my visit to Donny next Tuesday. (1) The sticker inside the door states that up to 180mph F 28 psi
rear 30 psi not the same as in the drivers manual. What works on the track as I normally drop off 5/6 lbs as the tyres warm up. (2) Aero ? the wing is straight forward & at the front the two sliding panels can be lifted. These are referred to as diffusor's but seem to be simple sliding panels. They do, in their uppermost position allow more air the the front brakes. I don't quite get how lifting the front diffusor's increase the down force? (3) Due for a complete setup at C/Gravity in a couple of weeks time & I would benefit to know what camber you run with? factory setting f & rear 1*30" Porsche recommended track figure 2*15" is this a bit aggressive for back on the road?
(4) AR Bar now I am out of my depth. Question, leave them on medium as factory or alter. What are you finding on track that is best ?
Any info on these 4 points would be helpful.

I am into around 600 track miles now. If you have the new version of the Cups I find that 30/33 Hot works well. With regard to the Aero settings for the first track day i found no problem with front end grip it was the backend that had some oversteer. Before the next track day I changed both the front and rear Aero to max settings this is what was advised by the head of Aero for GT road cars, in order to make the back end more stable. This completely sorted the oversteer for me. I run stock GEO all round with front ARBs to middle and rear to full firm. I know we all have different driving styles but for me for now i am happy to leave on its stock settings.I could instantly feel on the first corner the extra stability and more camber that the new DWB front end gives.

You keep mentioning these new Cup tyres, are they not the same compound as the Cup 2s. I cannot find any info on it to say they are different, only they have gone up a size for Porsche GT3 and they have given them an N0 rating which makes me think they are exactly the same.I am into around 600 track miles now. Have you driven a car on track yet with these new Cup 2s? A good friend does development driving for the maker. He mentioned before i had my car that they were a "halfway house" between the older cup 2 and the more expensive cup 2 R. In my experience with them so far 600 track miles and 1500 road miles they are a lot more more sticky than the ones that i had on my 2RS, 991.2 GT3, and WPRS, they now only require one dial down and sit at 30/33 all day, the downside is that based on track use so far whist they last a lot longer than the Cup 2-R, they only last about 1/2 the track use time as say the ones on my last WP RS, and 991.2 GT3.
