^^^ Yep the old chestnut of feeling compelled to take Porsche finance to help secure an allocation is largely incorrect with most OPCs. Same as loading up the car with mind numbingly expensive options which do not add value and would never be recouped on resale.

Where do you guys get the GT3 rear fender stone protection decals?

I don’t see it as an option on configurator. Is it after market product?

Contrasting stitching springs to mind.

With your garage and obvious spare cash, I am amazed you would call some options at a few k here and there 'mind numbingly expensive'

Not being an entitled a$$hole has worked for me.

I've never been rude to, or talked down to by anyone at my OPC.

Part exchanging a 991.2 GT3 and taking delivery of a 992 GT3 next week.
Play their game and you will be treated well, if you racked up next week and said I’ve changed my mind and will be selling privately do you think your GT allocation might come to an abrupt halt?
No doubt I could get more for my old car if I sold it privately but then i wouldn't get an allocation for a new one. Part exchanging the 991.2 was part of the deal for the 992 so I wouldn't rack up next week and say I'm selling privately because that wasn't the deal. I treat them how I would like to be treated myself.

Car dealerships offering less than retail as part exchange is normal. They will prep it and sell it with a warranty.
If you don’t mind me asking did you get back what you paid for your 991.2 gt3 new or did they pay less than list?
Less than list but a number I’m happy with.

It’s retained more value than 99% of four and a half year old cars and still represents extremely good value motoring in an awesome car.

Edited to add that I’ve never been pressured to use Porsche finance or buy a watch and I never have.

Thanks for the reply, it’s good to get honest first hand experience now I’m GT car less and pondering what to do next. Some 991.2 gt3 are starting to look better value 😋

^ This, I've always sold my cars back to the OPC at the price I bought them for and then get the option of the next GT car (within reason). I've never had to do any sucking up or any other 'incentives' or forced to buy a Porsche watch! I'm fully aware that if I sell privately that the arrangement terminated 'tout suit'
Human perception is a funny thing!

Isnt this sucking up and then bending over at the same time?? You have to sell your car back at list to get another car from them??

What happens if you want to keep it and buy another? Or if the car drops below what you've paid, do they still pay you list price back?

No wonder you dont have to buy a watch lol getmecoat
Not sucking up at all. What an odd viewpoint. It’s called common sense and good practice. The choice is to enjoy a progression of very high quality, entertaining cars at absolutely no capital cost whatsoever. Or grab at any opportunity to make a fast buck them moan when you cannot get the next car. What are your motives? Enjoying life or money?
Don't you come on here posting reasoned opinions, the cheek of it.

Sorry to take the thread topic off course from allocations and values…….

Car is now back from Max Protect, who did a sterling job of PPF, painting the plastic front splitter to match the body colour, re painting the wheels in Bronze, putting some form of magic coating on the car and adding P O R S C H E Heritage decals.

I’m posting incase anyone wants to do the same with the front of the car (IMHO I think it looks better like this and wasn’t crazy money to do it) and to give Janis at MP a shout out - brilliant service; professional, creative, flexible approach leading to a perfect quality end result - thanks Janis & team.

Harris vid when driving the 992 it was the best thing since sliced bread and you just have to get one,now his 991 is better!
Exactly, and this is why I struggle to take him seriously as he contradicts himself. And he also must think people come off a banana boat when he says he can't afford to keep both or hasn't the space. The amount he earns from Top Gear and with being a partner in Collecting Cars, then you know he's just not being truthful.
I didn't understand how he stated he couldn't afford to keep both the 991 and the 992 touring, so had to sell the 992.

If that was the case, surely he could not afford the 991 touring and the GT4RS?

Lot of codswallop.

He should of made a simple post saying one of them had to go and he preffered the 991, instead of making it look like he has royally spat the dummy and throwing Reading OPC under the bus.

Yep good call Richard having the expansive front black plastic painted as per Touring you can especially get away with it in the darker colour which as others have said looks fab.

Stunning fella, and the purple just 'throbs' with colour.

Once you have the final decals we are working on, it will be perfect. hehe

Fantastic colour and the front really finishes it. I wonder if you can add a ducktail to the std GT3 like the 991.2? Would the Sports Classic duck fit? Christ that would be a thing wouldn't it.

Looking forward to replacing the P O R S C H E decals with your trademarked “The Purple Throbber” JC - thankyou for coming up with this very classy approach smile
