Looks stunning. Love the colour, side stripes looks great in gold and grey.

I didn't like the Porsche lettering on the back which looks like newer models a simple 911 would be better.

Personally I'd add a ducktail and go for a central stripe in the same grey but with a gold outline.

But great to see someone doing something different. smile

2 things

1. Not sure about the matts. But not really too relevant.

2. I've seen some cars with this centre section round the ac and infotainment painted. The standard silvery grey is a bit rubbish but looks great in black.

9x7.2 isn't it? I agree though, improves the look somewhat.

This interior is pretty much what I plan with a 987. Looks great!

No some owners of gen 1 cars doing it.

It looks good although that one is still going to have the ancient looking graphics of the PCM!

Maybe in another 10 years we can call that retro. I've never really liked the sort of silver sort of grey. It just looked a bit French.

Thats black leather on PCM. Looks good. Look forward to popping up and seeing this car. The interior is not for me but plenty of good ideas. Less is more IMO. Same with exterior decals hide lovely unique paint scheme.

The one ATM posted is actually the factory leather finished solution, not painted.

I have gone through the trouble of painting mine, here some pictures:

Single best thing I have done to any car! (Looks much better in the flesh, since the car wasn't cleaned at the time.)
It is crucial to have a matt black, not a shiny one.

For me, this is the only feasible thing in the car until a PCCM+ for the 997 comes from Porsche. The graphics are perfectly suitable for the car and matches with the rest. Also I do not have the sat nav module. I use my iPhone for Spotify; Navigation; Speed Camera Alerts; etc, which I neatly place horizontaly below the HVAC (stays there perfectly under daily driving conditions).

After market double din smart radios just look plain wrong to eyes.

OP, I applaud what you have done here and that you have nailed everything exactly as you wanted it!
Aesthetically my views differ, but that is what makes the world interesting, isn't it? I'm sure you must be very pleased and it certainly is one hell of a car to drive. Bravo!

Paint PCM black best change? Agree it looks like a cheap amstrad hi fi in the car but who's looking at it when driving. The whole PCM unit is an abortion and should not have been in a £100k car! New after market one on the way from Porsche guys wink

That's the look I was going for !! laugh

What are you going for? I don't know these Porsche Guys.... Who are they?
I have not yet seen a solution that is aesthetically on par with the oem solution.

Hopefully there will be a PCCM+ for the 997 soon (but the 997 has not yet reached official "classic" status with Porsche, but the 996 has!)
The 996 one is done right! It does need to have buttons as well, nit just a touch screen.

The car looks brilliant, did you get the gearshift knob from these guys?

I can't seem to find anyone else that makes them.

Car looks great OP, you’re giving me ideas dangerous for my wallet. Really high quality finish everywhere.

Does anyone know when the official PCM is expected? I’m desperate to change my original unit but would prefer to hold out for the Porsche one if it’s going to be months rather than years.

Was a leather-covered console an option on 9X7.1 without PCM, do you know? Looks very good!

I've only seen that on cars like 997 GT3 and 997 GT2 RS and its always plastic as they're lw cars. I agree it does look good wish I'd done that!

It was an exclusive option, apparently code CUR. All 997 came with PCM as standard (only GT3 could be ordered with CDR24 CD-Radio) even if they didn't have the GPS module.

Since you would probably only spec a GT3 without PCM for weight reason, I don't think you would add a layer of heavy leather (it actually is paper thin!) on top of the Radio you have chosen for that hefty weight reduction.

And since it was a very costly option, I don't think a Boxster owner would have spent a lot to have the CD Radio covered in leather, without going for the PCM also. At least I have never seen or heard of a factory leather covered CD Radio / HVAC in a Boxster/GT3.
