Deposit down on 992 Gts, wise move ?

I’m sure the GTS will be a good buy and a great package that will have far better residuals than most.

Personally I’d be more interested in a ‘T’ type variant of it comes and feel it may be a better bet but who knows if it will become reality?!

Whilst I don’t want to lose my shirt, the residuals aren’t really part of my thinking. I have a GTS now and love it. Took me a little while to really fall for it but now I am smitten!

T versions of the 991 are lovely too so fair to assume a 992 T would be a nice thing (especially in yellow) but I like my creature comforts!

I am another with a deposit against a car that will be transferred when the GTS is launched. I’m going manual this time.

Yep a T would be an option but nobody really talking about them yet and already desperate so will stick with Gts , DEFO manual !!!

I've got a deposit down too which will be transferred to a GTS on release. Going for a manual and just need to decide on AWD or RWD. I've driven a c4s and driving a c2s next week. Why do people in this country go of the AWD?

Because they can't drive a RWD car in the wet.....

Because many like the added security that a 4WD car has within the UK, where weather is far from idea, bearing in mind aside from GT model (aside from GTS) are 4 seaters so likely to be in some part family cars.

It's not like the 4WD cars are not weighted towards the rear anyway. Anyone thats driven a newish car will know that significantly more drive is going to the rear wheels by default as the screen on the dash clearly details this, only to distribute towards the front when necessary.

Because there is an option in a high performance car on wet/crappy roads called the modern AWD system. It is an option after all , like do I want all leather interior , RWS, or do iI want manual ( the more common method to claim hero driving ability for some reason) ..etc
It's not an overly cheap option, so on that alone and say not going for RWS too saves a good chunk of money

I suspect most people would be quicker around most places in a Turbo rather than a GT2RS. God knows why when they are all 'nanny state' cars these days.

Its good to have options, which suit differing people/requirements.

Anyhow, back on topic. Hopefully there will be some news on the 992 GTS soon, but realistically its now looking like it will be a 2022 car for all but the first few.

As said, I've a deposit in place for one with the intention of going 'Targa', so early 2022 is far from an issue. Currently have a 991.2 4GTS (coupe) which is a great car for everyday driving, but fancy the option of open air driving, without going down the whole 'cabriolet' route.

Spoke to my local dealer last week who was unable to advise anything, so everything just hearsay at the moment to me.

I was thinking about this route, but if the back seats are important to you, do check out the Targa - they're not as good as the Coupe (much more upright and seems to be less headroom).

Whilst I do need the car to have rear seats for 'as and when', they will be used very infrequently, so not massively concerned about their comfort as will literally be 10-15 minutes rides with people in the back as for anything longer I'll take something more suited.

Not really on topic but just to say my Gts is in the showroom and due to collect next week ..!!! Anybody got some sage advice on the best Outdoor car covers as the car is gonna spend this winter out there as my garage is outta use till spring , thinking about buying Porsche own brand but feel specialist cover makers maybe be better , any help greatfully received …

I use an indoor one made by classic additions for my gt3 and would buy their outdoor one if I needed it. Pcgb discount if you're a member
