What seems to have changed from last summer is that Porsche GT cars are selling straight away at whatever prices they're up for. Last Summer even a nice low mile RS wp which cost £180k new was eventually sold for £205k despite being advertised for £225k. This was at my OPC by the way. Today that same car will sell at the advertised price of £225K which is a £20K increase. Seems to be the case with normal 991.2GT3s as well.
The market's gone beserk for high end cars from Porsche and Ferrari ATM.. Will it last though ?
I guess the big difference from last summer to now is the COVID vaccine rollout we are enjoying in the UK. Even last year there was increased confidence but the vaccine programme was uncertain and now at least there is confidence of immunisation, as well as all other confidence from the roadmap, etc... Roll on trackdays at the Nurburgring for us Brits again The market's gone beserk for high end cars from Porsche and Ferrari ATM.. Will it last though ?

Yup and it's really p!ssed me off - I don't like being held over a barrel but want the car. Small consolation is that I've got the allocation pre-price increase so the bloody watch is only costing c £4.5k instead of £8.5k.
Ridiculous, whatever next! What is the watch they have bribed you into buying? Usual suspects price pumping.
It's April. It's sunny and new car is a munter, double trombones or not.
Every asset class rallying as we come out of this... for now.
Not all high end flying, 488, Tribi-salami, any V12 Super-Gauche, Porsche Tin-Can...list endless if you like that sort of thing.
Would certainly not buy now...

Anyone found they are obliged to buy a watch to secure their GT3 allocation?

I fear that I will have to buy the watch too and part-ex my GT3 to stand a chance. The only good news are the high prices 991.2 GT3's are currently commanding but for how long???
Be prepared for the OPC to possibly screw you over on trade-in too, if the watch is an indication of how they're playing things...Twinfan said:
