expect to lose £3-5k on the watch once you instantly sell it

not that bad really to secure an allocation
On the plus side should anyone choose to wear it nobody will want to mug you for it! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Porsche-Design-GT3-RS-C...

On a more serious note, is it the watch itself that they want you to buy or would they be equally happy if you spent £5k on things like Exclusive Manufaktur options to personalise the car?

I think the mugging has already taken place.

I don't think it's actually about the spend. More like the Porsche mothership has put pressure on the OPC's to sell the watches. On a more serious note, is it the watch itself that they want you to buy or would they be equally happy if you spent £5k on things like Exclusive Manufaktur options to personalise the car?
I would rather spend money on a carbon roof etc.than buy a watch I really don't want or need.
Quite simply if someone really wants a 992GT3 sooner rather than later just play the game. I did to get an RS WP which i really wanted to keep and enjoy long term. For those of you who just want one for bragging rights and then turn a quick profit, ps off back to whichever rock you crawled out from.

How the hell do they get away with this.? Basically a £4.5k bribe.
Suppose its no different as a condition for an allocation to buy some used Porsche stock from the OPC thats been hanging around then take an instant c £10k loss....Be interesting to see what proportion of OPCs actually continue to enforce this condition as per the 991.2 when more 992s start coming through next year.

? Not everyone has been able to afford these cars forever and there will by definition have to be a first RS car you can buy... nice one on the RS. WCZ said:

And when all these used Porsche watches soon hit e bay we will no doubt find out their true value.
Around £100 max no doubt.

Probably right C. Unfortunately Porsche is rapidly catching up to Ferrari in the naff 'designer' tat stakes.

Usual suspects price pumping.
It's April. It's sunny and new car is a munter, double trombones or not.
Every asset class rallying as we come out of this... for now.
Not all high end flying, 488, Tribi-salami, any V12 Super-Gauche, Porsche Tin-Can...list endless if you like that sort of thing.
Would certainly not buy now...
I can see you now with one of those nasty cheapo watches on yer wrist whilst driving the st.It's April. It's sunny and new car is a munter, double trombones or not.
