Those were my thoughts too, there is a lot of choice out there for 200k and not convinced there are that many buyers. Having previously owned a turbo long ago, I know how much they traditionally tank in value !

It’s a pity that Crayon car has no over rev report and they didn’t option the black trim, and PDLS. As Reading did the 4 year service in April, wouldn’t a quick call to them reveal any issues within the rev ranges?

£192,500 plus the £6k. Appearing at a dealer forecourt soon, I bet.

I sold my steel shod example for similar money last September, so the market hasn’t moved as much as I thought. Those asking circa £250k for one are living in fantasyland.

Interestingly the reserve was lowered yesterday and then it clicked to ‘no reserve’ (ie when the reserve was met) this afternoon when bid at £168,000, so i would imagine the seller will be satisfied with his sale return of £192,500.

Does make £250k plus cars look a little silly even if they are LWB and PCCB equipped with slightly less miles.

People keep saying about 'the perfect spec', what is that exactly as a generalisation, and in what order?

Club Sport
918 Buckets
PCCB
Front Lift
PDLS Plus
Sport Chrono

Nice to have but not essential
Carbon Mirrors
Reversing Camera
Bose DAB
Black Door Handles

Is that it, is everything just varied personal preference after that.

Exterior Colour
Carbon Interior or Brushed Anthracite
Black, Graphite or Silver Wheels
Privacy or normal glass
Interior red or silver stripe and stitching

Depends what your use of the car is going to be.

Your list looks fairly accurate but I would place extended leather with (coloured) stitching fairly high ditch everything in your second paragraph and ditch anthracite.

Low owners pref 1 owner original unpainted condition history and usage also very important in selecting the right car.

Black door handles? is that really an option so high on the nice-to-haves? - is it a Gt3 thing?

Forgot gear change, there seems to be more manual than pdk for sale, but I think the mix is more even when you take a view over time.

Otherwise I agree with all your comments except the anthracite, which I find to be a credible and unusual alternative to carbon which is becoming fairly widespread.

Black handles are just an option that you can't justify, a waste of money that I kinda love cloud9

Hi there

Well all being well I am buying a friends 991.1 GT3 within the next couple of weeks as long as his deal on a 991.2 GT3 goes through.

It has 15k miles, 2yr OPC warranty, Guards red, buckets, extended leather, lifter, full XPEL Ultimate PPF to entire car and is absolutely spotless. I paid a little over due to the spec and guards red, but it really is a totally flawless car, not a single mark or stone chip on the paint.

Rather excited to add it to the collection, it has cost me 110k but I think its a very fair price for the colour. smile

If all goes smoothly, once I have it I shall post some pictures, will be interesting to see how it compares to my 458 and Exige 410. smile

For me, I can't get to a definitive preference on pdk v manual. My .2 GT3 was manual and I loved it. The interaction is of course wonderful. It was also great (more??) fun at mundane, everyday speeds.

PDK though (have on my cayman and on previous 991 GTS) is a ruthlessly efficient, devastating gearbox. There are scenarios where it feels perfectly suited. My 'plan' is buy a sweet .2 PDK GT3 and then have it converted to a touring.

But gernerally, maybe buy both?

Great cars and they seem to have bounced back price wise of late.

You might be interested in Steve Sutcliffes initial reviews on the Gen 1 also he tested the car against a Speciale in Wales and the GT3 came out very well.

I wouldn't be without BOSE and Reversing Camera on my GT3, the former being particularly convenient on longer journeys. Black door handles I would tend to agree with you lol

Indeed a lot of car for £110k and the price is fair in the current market.

In terms of driving experience, my main thoughts from doing 12k miles in mine:

1. You can get a lot of satisfaction from it on a B-road even if driving it in normal suspension mode at 7/10ths, as there are some nice weight transfers (especially front to rear).
2. Although you can't go around in sports suspension all the time it really does sharpen the front-end up as normal mode is a bit languid. So well worth enabling for a series of corners.
3. Make sure you have fairly fresh tyres on the front.to help with turn-in.
4. Steering feedback at times is really good and then at other times you have absolutely no idea what's happening (unlike the Lotus).
5. Back end will step out quite quickly when making tight turns at low speed - I'm not sure if the RWS system exacerbates this at lower speeds, but it caught me out a couple of times. At higher speeds the car seems to cut the corner a bit at the rear so something to watch out for on certain corners.

I know they are obvious points to some, but hopefully they will be useful titbits of knowledge for when you get the car.

918 buckets are a must not have option for quite a few people .

Yes they can be a bit uncomfortable, I bought a pair of those little brackets and canted them back a few degress, makes for a more relaxing driving position.

I dont see the point of tilting buckets if you have a roll cage, but if no club sport then i get that.

They are beneficial ‘on track’, but agree, can be tedious for regular ‘on road’ use.

Not at all J.

The absolute sweetspot of driving involvement v reasonable comfort.

All relative of course. driving

Correct, IMO.
I had three GT3s ‘996, 997, 991T, and there are other Porsches that deliver a better and more accessible ‘sweet spot’ experience on the road.
Any GT Porsche is wasted if it is not exploited on track.
