Looks great congrats!

I've done over a 1000 miles in a months ownership of my .2
Such great cars.

So the engine issues on the .1 didn't dissuade you at all?
Nope as its got warranty. I will keep it under warranty. smile

The .1 has the advantage of been for me the more motorsport feeling car, it is really raw from an engine/drivetrain perspective and I like that.

That brings me onto a question.
My car has OPC 2yr warranty, but I purchased it privately and the warranty is currently in the previous owners name, do I need to get this changed to my name or is it just fine to leave as it is?
I can assure you the .2 is rather raw!

Playing at SuperCarFest the other weekend wink

Get the warranty transferred into your name. Your OPC will be able to sort.

Sorry, what? The .1 991 GT3 is more raw and motorsport feeling than the .2 991 GT3? Are you kidding?

I remember seeing you run, I was there in my yellow 458, what kind of speed were you hitting by the end of airfield? Managed 157mph in the 458 but was braking too early. Did not have the GT3 in time to take otherwise would of loved to have gone in that as the launch control as your video demonstrates is so much more aggressive and fun than the one in the 458.

Still a lot of fun and the short gearing really helps.

Ahh nice one.

Around 150 but I nearly overshot the end of the runway.
PCCB's are better when warm!

Yes the ones in my 458 are st, work OK when really hot but it is the weakest part of the 458, rest of car is magnificent, but the brakes take some getting used too and can give you squeaky bum moments, I've got a set of steels to try, just yet to fit them.

Im looking at a car at OPD at the moment.

its a 4 owner car. Looked immaculate.

How put off are people generally by owners 3+.

Normally it bothers me, but the car was mint and its the best spec I can find.

Im chipping away at the price and almost ready to do a deal.

I have bought super cars with 4 previous owners ,it’s quite normal especially with a car like the gt3 which people buy to trade .
You can only go off the example you are looking at ,if it’s an opc car you will have peace of mind ,but less owners is more desirable but shouldn’t be a reason not to buy a car if it’s all kosher .

Not unusual to see 10+ on such cars, not really an issue, the most important thing is to buy on condition and service history.

I would prefer a one careful owner

But bought an absolutely beautiful 996.2 GT3 that had 6 previous owners . If it’s good get it bought before someone else does

I think Gibbo is spot on, my 991.1 sounded way more raw, felt more raw on the road and in the way it covered ground on twisty B roads.

The .2 does not have the same scream from the engine, which is clearly just down the character of the different engines.

My .2 is softer than my .1, it's it has more float on b roads than the .1, the engine in my .2 revs more freely but without the shrill scream you get from the 3.8.

Both are exceptional cars, but I think the .1 is widely regarded as being rawer, at least by all the people I've spoken to that have owned both.

The 991.2 engine has way more addictive induction noise than the 991.1 and right up to the red line. Gen 2 covers ground quicker than the gen 1 in fact it would be quite remarkable if it didn't looking at the spec and development differences.

The 991.2 has thankfully lost the 'bag of spanners' rattle afflicting the 991.1 on tickover which imo is a good thing although admittedly some prefer the clatter of the gen 1.

The gen 2 engine is more responsive at lower revs than the gen 1 also power and torque drop off on the gen 1 engine is way more noticeable than with the gen 2 engine approaching the red line. Hardly surprising though considering the gen 2 is effectively the Cup car engine hence clearly more 'motorsport' feeling overall.

I agree with all of this. The 991.1GT3 lacks torque below 6k revs but the shrill scream from 6-9k revs makes the hair at the back of your neck stand to attention. Its a very underrated car these days and surprisingly good value as a result. The same can be said for the 991.1GT3 RS especially in UV.

D’you think the message, that the best time to buy a sports car is in winter, has finally got out?

But only 1 991.2 GT3 CS out of only 2 in the whole OPC network. Both 2017 PDKs and 4/5 owners lol. In fact an all time low in terms of numbers for sale.

Also can't believe how much gen 1 GT3s have gone up in price recently. Most are waaay over list price ££ even with 30k miles and some are approaching what I sold my gen 1 GT3 for way back in 2016!

Numbers seem thin on the ground.

I am loving my .1 GT3, I paid 110k and have no fears of losing much money at all been a low miles (15k) and in Guards red with heated buckets with OPC warranty.
