Not those buckets, electric height adjustment and manual forward rear adjustment. Found them a pain in a GT3 with a cage, maybe there's more room without.
Ah, ok. Thanks

Probably going for a 2 GTS Cab, Manual, Black and just a few options not sure about:

1. Front Axel Lift - On the GT3 I used it all the time, is it a lot lower than the GTS?

2. 18 Way Seats - Never changed them once set into position but are the 4 ways less comfortable?

3. PDCC with rear axel steering - not sure what I think about it truthfully, possibly makes the car too sorted and less fun
1. I put front lift on the 991.2 gts ,never used it but in fairness I rarely use it on my gt3 so I would say it depends on where you live etc

2. I always would spec 18 ways ,but at a pec day I had a car with normal sports seats and they were fine ,so the last 2 cars I just went with those ,but really go and sit in them because no one can tell you how comfortable you will be in any seat .

3. Again personal choice but I found pdcc a bit odd ,roll communicates what is going on ,taking that away creates an artificial feel to me,but for road driving I would say really not needed .

I put my spec up on page 6 - http://www.porsche-code.com/PN7T6ER0 and got some negative but constructive comments.

The 2 comments about not seeing the point of a GTS without centre locks and alcantara and about it being unsaleable hit home. I've been back to the configurator numerous times but keep coming back to this spec.

Probably easier to say what I don't want. I really don't want it in Python, Shark, Lava or Agate. I love the look of black but its a no as it just gets dirty too quickly. I had crayon on my last Boxster GTS and want something different.

Help please! Anything I'm missing? Its my first 911 and the most I've ever spent on a car and part of me says have it how I like it but part of me says that it may be wrong to do that.

If it helps the main two things that put my off GTS are alcantara and centre locks. I don’t like black wheels either but they are easy to change.
Must haves are 18 way heated seats, tpms, and DAB.
We are all different.

IMO you are de-GTSing a GTS. In the main a GTS has a certain type of buyer which means they are VERY spec sensitive. Spend some time on the OPC used locator and have a look at the cars which hang around v which cars sell quickly. I'm sure you'll see a common trend.

Out of curiosity I loaded your code then switch from a GTS to a CS whilst retaining the options you selected. You could easily save your self £12-15k just by doing that!

I think you need to change tact to…

“I've been back to the Dealership numerous times and experienced the options in real life….and….”

…then see if you keep coming back to this spec.

I sense you have spent waaaay too long in the configurator, just because you can (and understandably so).

As another comment says, you have zapped all the GTS out of it. I would say that is the best feedback, not necessarily on carbon this or that, more so are you sure this is the right model for you?

But if you have explored it all, then go with what your gut tells you. We all have different tastes. Go with your instincts as otherwise, come collection day, it won’t feel like yours, more so a 911 optioned by committee.

Thanks km and Julian. Comments very much appreciated.

I had originally intended getting a CS with that spec and chrono and sports exhaust but was told by the dealer that instead of q2 2022 it may be 2023 at least. Also in terms of value with the extra power and different front and back etc the gts seemed to make sense.

You are right in saying I’ve de-gts’d it. I’ve had a couple of Boxster gts and the gts interior is something I’d like a change from. I’m also sick of black wheels. Despite not being a fan I’ve ended up with them more or less constantly since 2016 and really don’t want them again.

What has hit home is the comment about spending too long on the confiigurator and that it needs to be “my’ car.

I’m trying to look again at Carmine with black wheels but keep being pulled back. I think given what you have both said, and I’m grateful for the time taken to do so, that I’ll leave the configurator well alone and try to see as many colour options as I can before fixing the spec

You are literally my mate, he went from an S in Gentian Blue to copy me with the GTS and go for shark blue, but now he wasn't the leather interior and silver wheels, and its thinking about carmine or Gentian again!

keep telling him he needs to GTS spec it, but he wants the best of both worlds, the GTS running gear with the look of an S.

Im GTS spec all the way, with Signal Yellow and Yellow contrast stitching with the racetex and carbon to match the GTS interior packs.

I think a few are managing exceptions in case of delays. Whist I am expecting my Targa GTS to be delayed, its still showing as completing build 22nd of next month same day as another mates Black Targa supplied via West London. Just put phone down on PEC, they say expecting their GTS Nov.
I really dont think they are setting your exceptions right, I would put money on it not being here this year, and im getting told very different things about the PEC too, from multiple sources.

Im being told there won't be any GTS cars on these shores in 2021.

Hope im wrong, but from the component shortages we are seeing at the moment, and the lack of cars being delivered to the US, they seem to really be struggling.

I would not pay to much attention to the point that cars without Alcantara are unsalable. Both my Targa 4GTS has full leather trim, the Black one sold from supplying OPC within 24hrs the Orange one took 3 weeks, due to away requiring PPF being replaced due to track day damage.

You maybe be correct on my Targa 4GTS not arriving this year, due to parts supply.

But some cars are coming through Targa 4S for OPC showroom stock are getting built and being delivered. Also as of last week mine and my Friends triple black GTS Targa his is WestLondon are still showing as completing the end of this month. Some OPCs were given Targa Slots on the day the car went " live". From what i understand priority is given to a new model when its launched to get a least some cars into the market place. I only have one source for when the PEC cars being available thats the Centre it self, when i spoke to them last week to use up my Turbo S Slots, they said they are are hopeful that they will receive their GTS cars later this year. Also dont forget that we in UK most of the time get our cars before the US.

Ive just received an update this morning with the car completing on the 17th of December with delivery approx 1st week in January ( a small delay from end of November with December delivery) which will be perfect for me. They have been really good with the updates and pass on the information when they receive it.

I’ve taken the plunge and placed a deposit on one of these. Never specced a Porsche before and got thoroughly confused. After settling on a spec I keep seeing mention of rear axle steering. Should I be adding this option? What does it add in real world?
Thanks all

Excuse the reporter. This above is good explanation of how RWS works, along side a car driven with and without it, so you can see the difference it makes. Personally based on my experience with 991s with and without RWS, its well worth while option, it completely for me transforms the way in which the handles. No surprise the likes of Lambo, Ferrari even 4X4 SUVs makers are fitting it to their cars. Some dealers will have their 2WD GTS Demos back end next month so you should be able to experience this.

No quite as much as a 'must have' on 992s as it was on 991.2s but still a very desirable option on the 992GTS and the first box I'd tick. It transforms the car especially on track but not so much on public roads.

I have specced it before but in the pec days I have done every instructor told me ‘not needed on the road ‘
Helps with the turning circle and parking although neither are really issues that needed solving .
