How would you spec your 992 GTS?
Discussion
Pickup day! Car is extremely competent and notably quicker than 991 generation. You still need to be above 3k rpm for it to really pull, and sound from the engine (even with Lightweight package) only really screams in the last 1.5k rpm up to 7.5k redline. But it's a very impressive machine nonetheless. My spec includes Lightweight package with bucket seats, RWS, PDCC, and plenty of the interior upgrades.

Not sure if of interest, but there are a set of RS Spyder Design alloys (ie the GTS ones) for sale on Collecting Cars. Was tempted myself for a short while thinking they would be useful for winter tyres, but in reality I really don't need them. Link below;

Eventually got around to doing my PEC day earlier this week in a 992GTS Targa (Gentian Blue). Had a go on most of the facilities at Silverstone.
Was a great experience overall, although obviously goes quickly and you could spend days there without issue messing around on the different sections. Didn't spend much time on the handling circuits as to be honest that's just simple driving which you can do anywhere, whereas the other sections, ie 'Ice Hill', 'Kick Plate' & 'Straights' are where you can see how different settings effect how the car reacts to each thing, and found this much more interesting.
First of all, the car is epic, and apparently I should have it in the next 2 weeks, so can't wait now. Speed is all relative to some degree, and let's be honest most Porsche's are generally 'quick' in real world conditions, and probably 'excessive', so the acceleration side of things whilst great, is something rarely used on the roads to its full potential without looking a complete tool and likely spending time away at her majesties pleasure. What was interesting to understand is how quickly these things can come to a stop.
We were messing around accelerating up to certain speeds and braking, or just accelerating with a view to hitting the brakes and stopping at a certain point to see if I could judge how quickly the car could stop. Its fair to say it exceeded by expectations to start with, and the braking side of things amazed me. They did say in the initial briefing that any Porsche is design to get from 60-0 in half the time it takes the same car to get from 0-60, so in the case of the PDK GTS that does 0-60 in around 3.5 seconds (but in reality nearer to 3.2 seconds I believe) then 60-0 is sub 1.6 seconds. Pretty impressive, and didn't realise that the rear wing on the 992 GTS (not sure about other models) acts as an air brake under aggressive braking.
As said, can't wait for the car now. A near perfect GT car IMO, and just in time for summer
Good write up ! Glad you enjoyed! I was at PEC on 21st April in my 991.2 GTS (crayon) and had a quick sit inside that same 992 Targa GTS as i parked next to it. It looked very tidy indeed and made mine look slightly dated!Was a great experience overall, although obviously goes quickly and you could spend days there without issue messing around on the different sections.
