Yes the manual is also around 45Kg lighter I read somewhere.
Will look at the lights upgrade, probably will ditch innodrive then.

Yes that’s how I am inclined too, PDK probably for me.

Any spec I am missing in your opinion? I get this is all very personal.
Windscreen with grey top-tint

Lightweight Package or Lightweight and noise insulated glass if you don't want buckets.

Aerokit

Ioniser

Light design package if you do night driving

Interior mirror panel in leather

Steering column casing in leather

Sports Seat Plus backrests in leather with decorative inlay painted in exterior colour - or - Sports Seat Plus backrests in leather with decorative inlay in leather

Dashboard and Door trim package in leather

Sun visors in Race-Tex

Roof lining in Race-Tex

Belt Outlet Trims in Race-Tex

Storage compartment lid in Race-Tex with ‘PORSCHE’ logo - or - Storage compartment lid in Race-Tex with Porsche Crest

PDK Gear Selector in Aluminium if going PDK though I agree with the comments on Manual. No right or wrong answer, each to their own, but PDK on a test drive bored the hell out of me.

I’m torn on the choice for PTS, what does everyone think about Meissen Blue? My only concern is the 992 backend in lighter colours.

The shortlist is:

Grigio Telesto (A bit boring but I like it)
Irish Green (Good heritage colour and my favourite green)
Meissen Blue (A great heritage colour, but not sure it suits modern cars?)
Signal Yellow (A bolder choice, not sure I’ll be brave enough!)
I wouldnt get signal yellow..... (mine is Signal, and I want it to be rare wink )

I'm wondering if there is something on your spec where they're currently having supply issues with, especially if it has happened 4 times with your car...

Also wondering why yours hasn't moved to Stage 3 if it's in Production. Then again, I believe My Porsche updates are a bit random and not truly reflective of the current status.
I wouldn't get excited, mine was supposed to be in production on 10th June, its still saying pre-production, even thought the dealer system also shows its due at the dealer on the 22nd July (which wont happen).

I was told, due to a fire at the Taycan factory and severe parts shortage at the moment, theres a 6-8 week additional delay on Taycan, 718 and 911 cars at the moment, until production will start again, so my car is now likely to be end of September, unless im lucky. But the same message has gone to all 911 orders, which came from PGB, so everyone in the same boat im afraid.

Its a real bummer for me, as I sold my car via Carwow and its being collected next Monday, so rather than being carless for 3 weeks now, im going to be carless for possibly nearly 3 months frown

Not happy, but what can you do.

I'm the complete opposite of excited, I can assure you that. I've been car less for a year now as I got rid of my M4 Comp last year. frown

Don’t want to repeat myself, but when I placed my order in June last year, originally I was told Jan 2022 for my car to arrive, then it went to April 2022, then August 2022 and now only God knows…. For a first time Porsche buyer, this is not the dream experience I had in mind and by far the worst car buying experience ever, in what should have been the best.

Ruined every single road trip plan I had made with friends for this year, the latest being a potential trip in August to Germany and Swiss Alps. If yours is looking like end of Sept, then mine is potentially Oct I guess. I mean who wants a new car in st weather...

I've had enough if I'm honest and lost for words. Been on Autotrader this morning looking at alternatives, Ferrari, McLaren etc... Nothing else appeals to me. Well and truly p155ed off.

As much as I've been reading through this thread for the past couple of months I hadn't posted yet. Ordered my GTS back in Feb and was told Q1 2023 for delivery, worked for me as I picked up a Cayman GTS just over a year ago anyway. Loving the recent addition or Artic Grey to the configurator, so might need to update my sepc.

Read this article this morning and thought I'd share it here

I would not go for it again as done it once. But I liked Pastel Orange when I had it on my 991.2 Targa. Always looked good even when dirty

Do you have this option? I noticed that it adds silver around the dash trim and door handles?

extended leather gives you the dash and doortrim in leather,if you spec the trim parts in leather[dash strip, door strip, center consol] then the metal parts are silver coloured.
if you select matt carbon, plastic or alloy then the metal parts are black coloured

Thanks, leather trim parts I’m addition appear to be the only option that gives you silver door handles and silver dash trims with the race tex and extended leather.

I wanted to know if anyone had specced this for their gts.

I dont have a major issue with the delays, as I know its a worldwide issue, and Porsche are not doing it to stop cars going out of the door, would I rather my car was sent to me with loads of options missing, no. Its the communication I have an issue with, they are slow to communicate and update. They will know exactly when they plan to build my car, but I just get a generic 6-8 week delay email, I cant even track mine on the app still and it should have been built by now.

This is my 3rd Porsche, and the first was a terrible buying experience, like this one is turning out to be, the second one was a good, down to the salesperson I would say, and the car came early, but that was also a bit of a hassle coming out of the blue.

I just hope there are no more delays.

I think your being a tad harsh to your supping centre tbh- They don’t know when each car is 100% built, All they can go on is the system they have which lets face it , is not accurate at all, it used to be pretty accurate a few years ago! I’ve had cars turn up and my suppling centre and they did not know they were due!

This is Porsche, one of the leading car manufacturers in the world, and German, they are all about precision and perfection, as a manufacturer they know when the car is going to be built, they are a premium brand, to have ordered a car north of £150k and not have accurate updates is not good customer service. A friend ordered from another OPC and got very good communication, I asked my salesman to provide me with weekly updates now, even if just an email to say nothing has changed, and he was giving me the impression that this was a major hassle for him, and begrudgingly agreed to do it.

I have to agree with you, I've had many BMW's both cars and bikes, and they're brilliant with updates.

I think Porsche have a sense of arrogance, as in "We are Porsche and we can do what we want, when we want, take it or leave it".

I have a good friend who purchased his first Ferrari last year, a 458 Spider, and he tells me he was treated like a King and made to feel so special and welcomed to the brand. I've not felt this with Porsche so far which is such a massive shame.

I’ll be honest my dealer has been spot on. The salesman has kept me up to date was straight with me from the start with regards allocations and timings. I was expecting march next year so when I got an allocation 3 months after paying my deposit was a surprise. Now my lock-in date is tomorrow and looks like this delay will put it back again. I’m not too bothered though as I live abroad and don’t want to come home until decent weather anyway.
