How would you spec your 992 GTS?

Can't say I've experienced this, suspension is much better and compliant than my previous BMW M4 Comp was, as that was a bouncy car on our country roads.
However, it's all relative and what might be comfortable suspension for one, may not be for another. But I think it's a given that the GTS suspension will be firmer than the Carrera S, not only because of the -10mm Sport PASM, but also because of the Turbo spec suspension setup with the helper springs. Albeit not as firm as a GT3 which would be too firm for me.
Mine came from the dealer with the tyres in comfort mode and I found it to be just that. Almost shocked me how compliant the suspension is. I changed it to the harder setting and hated it on the UK bumpy roads. It’s now back on comfort pressures and I love it. The pressures make so much difference, almost night and day! However, it's all relative and what might be comfortable suspension for one, may not be for another. Yes, it's a well known fact that Nick Murray is a GTS hater in pretty much every 911 generation. He talks rubbish and makes certain things up, then makes it sound as if those things are true. For anyone who doesn't know better, they'd fall for it. Any proper Porsche enthusiast will see straight through it though. I wouldn't ever be turning to any of his videos if I needed Porsche buying advice. He just seems like a bitter man that's complaining all the time.

lovely though the matt ppf ruins it - the matt look was a bit of a fad I reckon - makes it look a bit chavy.CloudStuff said:
That has to be the most offensively specc'd car I've ever seen. That aside - how is that being sold as anew car give that matt PPF and stupid side stickers aren't on the configurator. oh, and its over list? - again didnt think they could sell 'new' cars for overs. - (Newcastle have a 'few' GT4's that aren't on the website but are available at list. )

Here is Nick Murry's latest self-deprecating video, including an update on his dog. It's only entertainment, with some opinion on Porsche! Viewing is optional.

Hi I’ve put my name down for a GTS (had one before, had to sell it..long story). Previously I specced the GTS interior pack which was nice but a bit dull. Has anyone done anything else like brown leather? I get a bit overwhelmed with the choice on the configurator. Still want it to feel a bit GTS so would go carbon and faceted steering wheel.
Can you experts help me with the best way forward (or maybe I am mad).

I certainly wouldn't call myself an expert at all, but happy to share an opinion. I don't think you're mad at all. Of course there's a so called 'ideal spec' to appeal to the widest audience on resale, but why not make it your own. I think the natural leather with 18 way seats and ideally a complimentary PTS colour would make for a lovely gentleman's express. Can you experts help me with the best way forward (or maybe I am mad).

Now that the 992 GTS has been out for a year or longer what is the best areas to get done in PPF
I have a 992 Carrera GTS with Aero Kit and glass sunroof . Not sure what I should do for PPF
So far thought is front bumper, bonnet, wings, full doors, half way up rear arches , A pillars, Mirrors and lights
Does that seem ok or should i Go full rear arches but if I do that then would it not be wiser to do the whole thing as that would only leave rear bumper left to do
So I am hoping those that have been lucky to enough hav had a GTS and had covered it in PPF can give some feedback pease

Personally I would do it all and be done.
Once you start doing a bit here and a bit there not much difference anyway.

I think i got quoted £5k for the full car and about 1.2 that for what i was suggested . Once you start doing a bit here and a bit there not much difference anyway.

Problem is I am not sure is if I will keep this one as I think Suspension could be too hard for our Roads up in here in Scotland. I think a Carrera or Carrera S might be the better option

The only experience I can offer is as follows. I’ve had 5 months and 3,500 miles in a silver GTS coupe with an aerokit, no PPF, and as far as I can tell, there aren’t any stone chips….I have a 992 Carrera GTS with Aero Kit and glass sunroof . Not sure what I should do for PPF

More importantly though, it’s a brilliant car, and always feels to have way more power than 480bhp and 570Nm would have you believe

You are correct, the suspension is firm, I do like it this way though, but understand it may not be to everyone’s tastes. I’ve not driven a GTS with the optional std PASM (instead of the GTS -10mm PASM) but I’d imagine it’s a bit more forgiving on lumpy roads….
I’ve no idea if it’s possible, but have you enquired if the standard PASM suspension is retro fittable to your car..? It might just be a 10mm taller and softer spring on the same damper…?

It's more than that, because the GTS comes with the Turbo spec suspension with the helper springs. By removing Sports PASM it will essentially give you the same suspension setup as a standard Carrera S, therefore removing the helper springs.I’ve not driven a GTS with the optional std PASM (instead of the GTS -10mm PASM) but I’d imagine it’s a bit more forgiving on lumpy roads….

My GTS also has the Aero kit and I've had it just over 4 months and love the suspension (Sports PASM -10mm). It's firm but much more compliant than my previous M4 Competition. And obviously much more liveable than a 992 GT3 would be on the road.
PS - Lovely car you have there and looks great in GT Silver, but that bike leaning against it is making me squirm a bit!
