How would you spec your 992 GTS?
Discussion
I have just placed an order for a GTS Cab with the majority of options and Signal Yellow PTS paint.
Because of the paint, I have not gone for the GTS packages (first time in what will be my 3rd GTS), but ive gone for the equivalents that give the same but allow me to spec speed yellow stitching.
Currently undecided about the bonnet and roof stripes. Also whether to go for the GTS PASM or standard PASM, on the 991.2 GTS Cab you didn't have the option of the GTS -10mm suspension, only PASM, so thats what im used to, and I do use comfort on the motorway. Like the fact they have the exterior gloss pack now too on the 911, had that on my 981 Boxster and loved it, so going for that. Going for the full advanced parking (remote parking in garage etc) and the innodrive too. About the only thing I haven't specced is the night vision, although cool, would never use it.
Cant wait though, love my 991.2 GTS cab in Viper Green, but time for something new, and the updated interior.
Was told by Porsche Reading an order now would be march next year with PTS adding 3 months, Silverstone have allocations for the end of the year and believe that PTS is open in Jan, so possibly delivery in Feb (probably more like March with the delays), so have ordered from Silverstone anyway. Never get the feeling you are a valued customer at Reading, youre just another number on their huge turnover.
I did test drive an Aston Vantage F1 edition, which just doesnt compare to the 991.2, let alone the 992, way too many compromises, and more expensive in every way. So sticking to my third Porsche GTS

the gts as it comes has just about everything i would look for, just pick a colour.
cant see why it has to have the gts interior as its just a few stips of carbon and seat belts/odd trim in a tacky red colour
looks better all black, but as always each to there own
100% agree !!! Though a bit of crayon / white detailing can sharpen things up a little ..cant see why it has to have the gts interior as its just a few stips of carbon and seat belts/odd trim in a tacky red colour
looks better all black, but as always each to there own

the T is where its at. Remember though when the 992 T comes out, like with the 991 T, the privacy glass option forgoes the light weight glass. Quite why anyone would spec privacy glass is beyond me, but many got caught out on that point.
IMO it's useful for making your 'stuff' behind the seats less visible to passers-by and low-life. Was an essential for me.cowboyengineer said:
that's not an aerokit though is it, thats a turbo, those wheels are hideous on that spec though. You cant spec the aerokit with a convertible.
Thats the worst viper green car ive seen, not sure what went wrong, just doesnt work.
I was going to go for the stripes on my signal yellow GTS Cab, but after seeing this, im not so sure, think its just too busy.
Also dont like the body coloured sills either, need to be black, viper needs black wheels and lots of other black parts.

no its not, its about the alcantara, makes it special inside.cant see why it has to have the gts interior as its just a few stips of carbon and seat belts/odd trim in a tacky red colour

Plus you dont have to have red, you can also have silver (crayon).
Have you owned a GTS?

you get racetex as standard, its weather you want red or crayon stiching, belts or odd trim parts coloured,i think its tacky and prefer the all blackPlus you dont have to have red, you can also have silver (crayon).

but as i said each to there own

I dont think they do Alcantara anymore its now called racetex, i have it on my GT3 it looks good but no way does it feel that it will wear well on a car used as a daily. Shame as on the older cars with Alcantara and the " GTS" Stitching etc it made the cars feel special, IMO. Have gone for Black and Silver leather, on Targa GTS, if Alcantara was an option would have 100% gone with it.but as i said each to there own

Without the gts interior it is pretty much the same as a boxster ,if someone is ok with that for a 100k + car then fine but I think for most it is a very important option.cant see why it has to have the gts interior as its just a few stips of carbon and seat belts/odd trim in a tacky red colour

partial you do, but unless you go for the GTS package or the extensive leather with racetex option as an alternative (the GTS package includes this plus the different coloured stitching) you still get some poverty spec items, some pretty important ones at that!but as i said each to there own
Additional items in black Race-Tex: dashboard lower section including glove compartment cover, door centre panels, cup holder cover.
Plus with the GTS pack you get the additional Carbon strips on the dash, doors and centre console.
It really is poverty spec without those packages, have you owned a GTS 911?

Alcantara is a brand, they invented the material in effect, there are other brands.Edited by APOLO1 on Friday 13th August 10:50
I believe Porsche make their own now and brand it as Race Tex.
Its the same material as far as know, shouldn't in any way be inferior.
Sport Tex is the cheaper version.

I quite like the GTS but does it need
GTS interior
Centre Lock alloys
Dealer seems to think so
Simple answer is yes.GTS interior
Centre Lock alloys
Dealer seems to think so
You can get the same look as the GTS package without the contrast colouring if you dont want that, by optioning the extensive leather with racetex option, that gives you the extra racetex on the lower dash and doors to stop it looking like a poverty GTS.
Then you can also add the extra carbon too (which is considerably cheaper if not optioning the GTS package). You can also add a contrast stitch if you wish too, which is what ive done to get yellow stitching to match the exterior colour.
