Apparently they have bought it back from a customer, so will be up for same soon. Looking on autotrader, I'd suspect north of 170k.

It looks awesome. Can't wait for mine to arrive.

So are Porsche dealers flipping cars now or do you think a customer pulled out?

Don’t believe the customer pulled out, so assume either saw an opportunity to make a bit of money or to get a slot on something else maybe.

Personally selling a 137.5k back just to make maybe 15k isn’t worthwhile to me. If they were potentially offering a GT3 slot and buying back at list then that may be worth worthwhile (or it would to me as would love a GT3 touring but the chances of ever getting one are slim to non existent I suspect).

Also, surely dealers not be able to get cars from the factory in the quantities they normal can is affecting their own business plans, and therefore they need to maybe do things they have tended not to in the past (although clearly this is not the first instance of such).

All I’m saying is dealers are effected like us. The sales guys have target to hit to make bonuses, etc, and if they don’t have the normal p/x stock coming through due to limited new cars sales then they have to diversify.

Don't believe that as Porsche delivered a record numbe rof cars last year (2021)

'In total, the brand sold 301,915 cars worldwide last year, an 11% increase year-on-year. Its most popular model, the Macan SUV, accounted for more than a third of this figure, with 88,362 units sold.
The larger Cayenne was close behind, selling 83,071 units, while demand for the two-year-old Taycan EV more than doubled to put it in third place with 41,296 units sold.
The Porsche 911 had its best year on record with 38,464 deliveries, which compares to the 30,220 Panameras and 20,502 718 Boxsters and 718 Caymans sold.

Porsche highlights a 22% sales uptick in the US, where it sold more than 70,000 cars, as a driving factor in its strong sales figures. Sales in China, its largest market, increased 8% over the previous record set in 2020, recording 95,671 sales.

A 7% increase in European sales saw 86,160 cars handed over to customers across the region, of which some 40% were either battery-electric or plug-in hybrids.

Figures issued separately for the UK – Porsche's fourth largest market – reveal that the firm sold 13,702 cars in the market, with the Taycan alone accounting for almost a third of that figure. The Macan was the second best-seller here, while the 911 outsold the Cayenne to take third place."

From a recent Autocar article
People can't travel on holiday as easily so many buying cars

Not really arguing that more people bought cars, but long long did (or does) it take them to get them ?

If I walked into a dealer in 2019 I suspect I could have a carrera s within a few months. It nearer a year now. The reported sales would be the same in both years, the the actual amount of money passing through a dealership very different.

Just about to trade my 991.1 GTS into the OPC as GT3 on the way - put the plate 6 GTS on pistonheads, great addition to your spec!

I'm going to start contacting a few dealers over the next few days, be interested to know what delivery times are on the GTS. I want a manual car and I'm in no rush. Any advice appreciated.

As nice a the plate is, 18k is a chunk of money.

Also worth bearing in mind GT52 xxx and GT54 xxx start at around £250

Phone a few dealers and see what they all say. I phoned a few and they all said q4 this year , which suits me down to a T so I put my deposit in a couple of weeks ago. I am number 7 on the list

Totally agree with what you are saying. I was trying to say hat there are plenty of car but unfortunately there are more buyers about as well. In 2019 I was just about to go looking at a used 997/991. No I own a GT4 and I have put a deposit on a 992 GTS as well with a view to keeping the GT4. How many more are in a similar position.
The crazy used prices mean buying new is almost a better deal so that will also contribute towards length waiting times. On the plus side it should keep residuals decent for next 2 years or so

I enjoyed watching this group opine and agonize over their car specification, color combinations and performance features.

I’ve spent the best part of 2 months figuring out the same. I’ve finally reached a conclusion. My build will be:

PNUDCQW2

It’s due to have the build completed by April 29th and all being well my plan is to pick it up from Leipzig. I’m excited for those who have already received their cars and for those like me are still waiting.
Is factory pickup an option again?

Brown is the best interior. Really, it's what I've specc'd. Leather ruffling and crayon stiching, Gentian blue, looks incredible. Black is so dull. I would know, just sold my black/black 997.1.....

Wouldn't it be boring if we all wanted the same spec.....

More importantly, what the actual f*** is that video on that autotrader listing all about, 1990s special pop effects, wtaf.
