Was speaking with my OPC last week - their thinking is that there could be a T version announced later this year.
Based on the 991.2 version, I’m thinking it will be a manual base model, different gear ratios to the S,, lightweight glass, options on rear seat and info systems, pse and sc, lowered suspension, less sound proofing, fabric door pulls, a bit of alcantara/racetec ( or whatever they’re calling it now..)…
Anything else?
And price? Just north of £90k?

LOL good to see your OPD is in the loop, how are they gettign their news, a crystal ball?. It has been in publications already for a November launch!!! Perhaps call them up tomorrow and you can educate them. Should be the other way round right.
Bottom right corner of the attached. It will have a PCM delete for a more streamlined dash appearance and all analog dials exclusive to this model.

Isn’t that just media speculation? Have Porsche officially announced anything yet?
Not to the level of Woodward and Bernstein but motoring journalists are well informed by insider knowledge, more so than OPD's. Whats appears speculation is, in the automotive world, usually fact. WCZ said:
you should be able to convert yours to T spec by buying the rear glass and converting the fabric door pulleys
Mine?I used to have a 991.2 GTS, but currently driving a 981B GTS so it would take more than glass and door pulls to convert it to a 992 T! 😂
The 981 GTS is a great fun car to drive, but there’s something about a 911 that keeps pulling me back!
I’m sure my wife and bank manager (not the same person!) will understand!

I'd say you are able to turn your C2/C2S or whatever into a much more special/focused car by just doing a few things to it. Of course hardly anybody does that. Fabric door pulls are a marketing joke (and I have them in my car). MDL111 said:

Absolutely. I had my 991.2 manual carrera just before the T was launched. I would have had a T if it’d been available, but I wasn’t going to spend >20K to trade in and upgrade to the fabric door pulls and plastic rear glass. So far I’ve remapped, added the Akrapovic exhaust and a Wavetrack LSD. There’s loads of other stuff that can be done to the chassis and interior to add to the car. I’ll been interested to see what’s on offer with the 992 T, but it’ll need to be good.
A 992T is inevitable - the Porsche production machine has become very formulaic.
Like many, I haven't yet warmed to the 992 - too big and techy for my 911 tastes, so it would be nice if there is a model that really does provide the traditional 911 qualities of lightness and simplicity.
The 991T was rather a half-baked result, so I think Porsche might devote a bit more effort this time.
Narrow body? - Sadly not possible
19" Wheels with PCCBs? - Probably not possible
Manual Gearbox? - Sure, that's the vital starting point of any 'analogue' 911
Lwt Glass? - Yes
Other Weight Saving materials? - Hope so, it really has to be the lightest of the production models in typical spec
Enhanced Performance? - Not necessary - the base engine is fine. But a few extra bhp would elevate its status
Seats? - Personal choice, but rears should be a delete option
Austerity? This should be the theme, where less is more, with an element of 'nostalgia' in the detail
Colours? - Should only be available in a limited selection of classic '70s shades
And, finally, no tacky side decals..... please

Apart from the Turbo S it’s about the only 992 I’ve got interest in right now.
I’d love to see an NA engine but that’s very unlikely.
I’m really tempted with a 991.2T but prices are a little too hot right now so it makes sense to wait and see what Porsche manage to pull out of the bag.
It would be brilliant if they could make it feel lighter and less GT like than the standard S and a bit more paired back as a driver focussed car.

Analogue dials yes please. PCM I’d spec back in for life’s luxury but would be happy if it dominated less. 991.2 T was a great package although somewhat let down by the manual gearbox action particularly in the upper ratios. I said at the time they will become desirable due to rarity and last of the narrow bodied Carreras with a 997.1 Carrera feel and sound track too and this is reflected in the current high prices.
Miss mine although it is no substitute for a 718 GT4 at roughly the same money which is a far more focused but slightly less usable drivers car.
Biggest problem with the 992 T will be the wider body but anyone ordering one is recommended to keep the spec simple i.e. manual, T pack, lightweight glass, nav and thats about it. Mine of this spec (comfort seats) sold overnight from my OPC at approaching list £ price at 18 months old whereas PDK higher spec cars with less mileage hung around.
Doubtful whether the 992 will be as desirable as the 991.2 medium to long term.

Don't get caught out like many others who ordered the privacy glass option which removed the light weight glass....that caught many out. Privacy glass is horrid, if you need privacy then are you really going to be sat in the back of a 911?!
people bought the car with privacy glass, pcm, etc and added all of the weight back in Gassing Station | 911/Carrera GT | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
