Quite normal I suspect. I’m basically half way through an anticipated 15 months ish wait. I just take the view that the deposit gives me an option on a car when the time comes as otherwise I would be wound up about how elastic the process appears to be in the black box world of 911 ordering.
if like to be that relaxed about it, but I find the process and lack of info frustrating and ruins a lot of the excitement of buying such a car.

I appreciate there are challenges right now but no way is Porsche manufacturing as devoid of information and foresight as the dealerships are.
I am normally as you are but the timeframes here are so long that they are not interested in hearing from people chasing them. I have called a handful of times but always get the same quarter answer (a good thing) but there seems to be nothing backing it up when I ask how many they get every quarter. If it slips I will not be surprised but I do not expect to hear anything until I am asked for my spec even if that is delayed. Customer service is at the light end of the scale. To be fair when I ordered I could have had a GTS in nine months but I’m buying the runt of the range so need to sit it out!

I have given up and pulled my deposit. Currently searching out a 997.1 C2S project car. 350-380 horses just fine with me. Just need to find time to actually go look, oh and finish the garage to put it in....
350-380 horses just fine in the real world. Unless you want a few bragging rights. wink

That's mine. I toy with the front and rear sports updates, yellow as a colour and a few other tweaks. But sadly I doubt it will get built regardless

I’m looking at CSR or Sport Classic for inspiration for sure, but want it as a rolling project to get the pleasure from that along the way.

I’ve had a 992 C2S PDK for a couple of years and scratched the itch. Awesome bit of kit, but maybe never meet your heroes, just far far to competent for me in reality.

Did think 992 C2 but no manual and can’t really mod it - so much tech, filters etc. just doesn’t work. I’m fully EV’d for a daily so for acceleration I’m sorted and the best PDK is no PDK if you know what I mean.

With no T on the horizon, 997 or even 996 backdate project it will be.
This is essentially the crossroads I am at right now. I'd like a 992T and my OPC are lending me a 992 GTS for the day tomorrow whilst my Macan is being serviced. Essentially that'll be the test whether I want a 992 or a 997 Project. If the 997 project it'll mean I can refresh the Macan alongside it, I can't afford to do both being new cars so either way it'll probably be win win.

Does anybody have any update on the 992T, I'd placed a deposit in anticipation and then it all went very quiet.......
Its not happening. They are releasing the 992 ST instead.
What is the ST about? Have not heard of it yet
The ST is claimed to be a stripped-out model for track use, just like the original of the 1970s. The engine choice is rumoured to be the 4.0-liter flat-6 of the current 911 GT3, possibly spitting out more than the stock 502 hp and coupled with some retro cues elsewhere on the car.
Many thanks. How would that fit with current Touring and upcoming RS? Is it an R successor with similarly limited numbers?

no. My dealer who I'm far from convinced by said it would likely be the 992.2 now.

Probably not helped by the shortage of parts

Mine has gone quiet on me too, although I'm going on the Porsche Experience day next Tuesday which should be fun.

Some of you may have seen this recently but I just thought I'd add this, one of Porsche's VIN registration docs for MY23 cars.
The T is there, no word on when it's going to be released, no idea of spec, just that it will share the base engine power.

Will be interesting to see spec once released.

Spotted this on a Facebook forum, oddly, also. I've been checking for any more news since and haven't seen anything. Just when I had resigned myself that my 'T' deposit was going to end up on a PDK Carrera I may end up with a manual T after all smile

It's an official VIN registration document Julian.

It was amongst around 10 pages of all the Porsche VIN documents for MY23.

My Dealer knows the T is happening, the official release was expected later in the year.

Last time I spoke to my dealer it was expected, obviously shortages / wiring and a new 12v battery supply issue may put things back.
Whenever it happens this year or next I'm happy.
The main thing is that it is happening at some point in the near future. (And it's certainly no hoax or photoshopped prank)

that is because if it is going to happen it will be part of the Gen 2 cycle. It is not happening anytime soon.

I’ll be happy if that’s the case as long as it’s not electric..
