Yes reserved yesterday! Was for sale on ebay for over 5 months before it went on SOR with JZM - just shows people prefer buying from dealers with dealer facilities on offer.

I agree, the 8k mile car although collectible due to mileage isn't for some as the spec on it is extremely well...naff.

Dan
Yes - offering finance, and providing some come-back will do the trick.

What makes the spec' of the 8k car "extremely naff"? Looks spot-on to my eyes, and not significantly different to any other car currently (or recently) for sale.

Regardless, I think agonising about the spec' of these things is missing the point a little. They were from an era when Porsche hadn't quite cottoned-on to the idea of milking the myriad options cow, so they're all pretty much the same, with the main differentiator being CS/non-CS, which could of course be your reasoning behind the "extremely naff" comment. Condition should be considered far more important than spec' in my view at this stage.

But, one man's meat...

Sorry, I just think the lack of alcantara steering wheel despite having the gearknob is a bit strange! At least it DOES have the leather capped dash which is far better than the standard plastic one. Other than that - no ceramics, no carbon seats, no clubsport package. Its not a collectors dream car - and at 110k when you can pick up low mileage RS's for 35/40k more its a BIG ask.

You can re-trim wheel. Even if it were alcantara, after 15 years of being mauled with other people's greasy wking spanners, you'd likely want to re-trim it anyway. FWIW

Ha ha!... One of the first things I had done. Royal Steering Wheels did a great job.

Gearstick looked like someone had used to to fit tyres.

Wheel wasn;t too bad, but I wanted to add the RS style yellow 12 o'clock marker (because I am that sort of pillock) so it got done at the same time.

I used DesignLS who were superb, but hear very good things about Royal too.

I am a similar sort of pillock, but had my marker done in red to match my poverty-spec' barely functional calipers. biggrin

I had my PCCB calipers switched out for steels. Just to further muddy the waters.

OEM discs are in a box, in a cupboard, under armed guard.

I had my Alcantara steering wheel cleaned and it's stored in a box in the garage. I'm running a leather wheel acquired for £150 on eBay. IMO the Alcantara suits people like Prince Andrew, but if you're inclined to perspire on a track day (and don't wear gloves), the leather is preferable.

I’m in Dubai, so negative on that.

Mine has the Carrera GT CF bucket seats too.

Not sure if these are newly advertised, but I don't recall seeing them before...

Yeah both of those appeared in the last 24 hours..

Personally think they’re both priced too strongly for what they are..
The more expensive one was sold at JZM in 2020 for 75-80 IIRC

Doesn’t mean they won’t sell though if someone wants one badly enough.

In my view you’ve gotta ask why are these cars not for sale at a true specialist of the brand..
Likes of JZM or RPM…

look at the state of the front lower lip, and for £100K!

https://m.atcdn.co.uk/a/media/w1024/5628b6393c3045...

£220 it is to replace that part, but they decide that for £100K a scratched front splitter needn't be changed. Hopeless.

That’s nothing. Clearly, that car’s never got off the ferry in Rotterdam.

Totally right. Given the pretty damn clean white car with nearly full Porsche history with two services at JZM was up at 86k (and could have been had for 78k privately)... 100k for this is strong money - especially being a none clubsport.

For a track toy, 80/100k can buy you something much more fun and faster and from a collectors perspective, given how many RS's are for sale and the cost of them in comparison to a comfort GT3 doesn't make any logical sense.

Just fitted another new one to mine . I'm fairly sure that by the time it has completed it's inaugural trip out of my village it won't look new anymore! When searching for one of these cars though, I must confess that I obsessed about the condition of the splitter as one of the indicators of the level of preparation the cars had been subjected to.

A few cars looked like the only prep they'd had was a cursory squirt with a jet-washer. Not good back then, even more not gooderer now that asking prices are getting even more serious.

The trouble with the splitter is, it is so (relatively) cheap and extremely easy to fit, you have to question why any serious dealer would not replace it.

Are the posters who think these recent cars are overpriced owners, talking down their own book, ex owners who wish they'd never sold, or potential owners wishing they'd jumped in sooner?

The fact that a lot of them are quickly finding new homes suggests that they're correctly priced. I've always felt the 997.1 GT3 was underpriced compared with other GT3s, and given recent increases in 996 GT3 values, I think it's inevitable that 997s are now following suit.

The same has happened with M3s. A good E46 can easily cost more than an E92, despite the later car being 'better' in almost all ways.

Long may it continue!
