I certainly wouldn’t trust the dealer but might still be a good car. Just have a PPI.

£199 admin fees on a £80k car is a joke though!
I walk when I'm see that. Complete con.

I believe it was also sold a few years ago by Porsche Bristol.

Is it EJ07 YSY?

It’s a Cat D run a mile, be lucky if it’s worth 45k in the real world.

Be fun getting that inspected 🤣

Looks like there’s another red one coming soon. Rusty cills though, perhaps from track use?

Looks a nice car with a lovely spec (buckets& no cage). Some of the questions though- how many sets of tyres have you used? lol

Isn’t this the car which is a damaged repaired car, ended up in auction.

It’s the auto trader car linked above. Not sure about auction.

So in the ten pages or so since I subscribed to this thread, the two cars I was looking at both had "history" and then several others that have been mentioned on here have too. Can't be many 997 GT3's that haven't been smashed up it seems!

Thers a 3 time wrecked 996 GT3 that is still selling well in excess of that figure, so no idea where you get 45k from

Some people really are wishful thinkers.

As I said on another forum, there are plenty of these cars that have probably had much worse damage than this one that are not recorded... CAT D wouldn't put me off a GT3 if it was minor damage (which it likely is being CAT D...) and a thorough inspection was conducted. At least it shows its history with a badge of honour biggrin

So did SCD buy it as a Cat D or did they crash & repair it?

There are a few red flags on the Autotrader advert linked above.
  • it states 'Balance of Porsche Extended Warranty and Assistance until March 2021' - that's no good in November 2022.
  • it states 8 services in the book, which is the same number it had when SCD bought it three years ago, which would mean it hasn't been serviced for three years.
  • it says private sale, but also 'Link to this vehicle on our website'.
It all smells a bit fishy.

I agree, if PPI goes well. In fact, you then have a car that if you crash it again on track the value doesn't tank because it's already a Cat D. I think I'd push it harder = more fun! Also cheaper to insure for track days

Although mine was a Cat C and then I added a Cat S. So I win right?
