This looks cheap for the mileage and spec...sign of the market crashing or are there hidden dangers with this one?

Sounds angry when he opens up. I think he says over 4000 it takes off. Does it have valves which open in the exhaust? Sounds like 2 different cars.IbanezDan said:

Thers a 3 time wrecked 996 GT3 that is still selling well in excess of that figure, so no idea where you get 45k from
Some people really are wishful thinkers. As I said on another forum, there are plenty of these cars that have probably had much worse damage than this one that are not recorded... CAT D wouldn't put me off a GT3 if it was minor damage (which it likely is being CAT D...) and a thorough inspection was conducted. At least it shows its history with a badge of honour
To be fair to GT4RS, if freedman was talking about the Zanzibar 996; that car has been on and off the market since August 2018, so it’s not selling at its advertised price.

It’s a Cat D run a mile, be lucky if it’s worth 45k in the real world.

From 2014 (Zanzibar GT3):
"
I spoke to an ex-owner of this car yesterday. It has had at least 3 big hits in its life, including a rear corner that required the chassis legs to be pulled straight & a OSF corner that ripped the suspension out completely. The worst one was the first (and why he'd managed to buy it cheap at £23K several years ago) which needed the entire front section from the A pillars forward cut off. The front section from a rear-end write-off was then grafted on. If you delve deep enough on the front section, you'll find the original blue paint!
His summation: Run away, no matter what the price. The guy he sold it to crashed it twice on trackdays in his ownership & did cheap repairs both times.
It is now being sold by an owner who may or may not know its history..."

Be interesting to see how prices react now with rising taxes and facing the worst recession for decades.
House prices are clearly struggling -

Borrowing money for a car has a lot more risk to it now that even 2 months ago so less people will do it.Be interesting to see how prices react now with rising taxes and facing the worst recession for decades.

Even for 'cash' car buyers, that money may now be set aside to pay down mortgage faster.
The game has changed.
Low interest rates for over a decade essentially de-risked asset buying and that period has ended.
Assets will start to find their true value and this doesn't happen overnight...
