Rockhurst have a gorgeous 997.2 RS.
Fabulous Spec.
Fabulous price. Agreed though, it is very possible the nicest looking, but too much money for a track slag.

I had honestly never heard of Rockhurst before. Off to do some research.

Think it's lovely, sunroof is ultra-rare and the colour would make it stand out versus the sea of white and red examples (like mine getmecoat). Has the all-important Chrono Plus and Sound Package plus the PCCM which is really worthwhile. Mileage about right so you wouldn't hammer the value actually driving it.

Value is subjective, it's high-priced I suppose but it hasn't been up for sale that long compared to some others. These cars don't tend to fly off the shelf anyway, but if it were me and it was in budget i'd be very keen. They really are magnificent cars.
Why is Chrono plus important on a 997.1?

After 10 years of ownership, mine will be for sale in the next few weeks.
I bought it as a forever car, but I’ve moved to France and don’t fancy paying the €30k in VAT and duties to register it here, nor the hassle involved with moving it back and forth between here and UK every 6 months.
I still haven’t decided the best way to sell it yet.
Comfort spec with folding carbon buckets and neither a garage queen nor a track tool.

Would VAT need to be paid to import a car you already have owned for a good long while as it would classify as a personal possesion if you are moving to France? It would need all the registration faff obviously but I thought VAT wouldn't apply unless it was a newly bought one?

There's a 12-month deadline to declare personal possessions and for various reasons, not least my own stupidity, I missed it by a long shot.

It’s not, other than being called a common dash wart.

I was confusing it with the Turbo, where it changes the engine mapping. The added features of the Chrono/Chrono Plus are not that exciting. As you were.

Colour was the immediate attraction, love Cobalt and the sunroof is a rather surprising addition.

It seems to be a high 70's car rather than a Clubsport price, the worry was how long it had been up for sale thus having a chequered past as it is a 3 hour each way trip to view!

Will see it tomorrow and report back.
How did the viewing go Matty?

It’s marked up as reserved now.

It went well, but not me reserving, the car itself was nice, it's overpriced but nice.

Still on it's original clutch apparently and the rear disks will need some attention but it's a nice car.

You make it sound like the clutch shouldn’t have lasted only 34k miles? That’s a good sign if you ask me. Shows the car has probably not been abused.

Pretty confident mine is original too, 38k and feels absolutely spot on.

FWIW mine just swapped short of 40k miles and was still good, with a bit of wear left.

Only swapped because RMS needed fixing, so Man Maths calculated it was time for a light weight flywheel.

Similar story here. I only changed mine at around 42k while I was having the coolant pipes welded, went for RS4.0 clutch & LWFW ‘while I was in there’. I had a slight judder for many years when moving off (both fw and reverse), but ironically I believe that was through lack of hard use somehow. The judder would disappear after a track day but then come back slowly after miles of gentle road driving. All gone now though. These days I tend to let the clutch out without touching the throttle pedal which must help reduce unnecessary strain on the clutch

I guess someone didn't think it was over-priced, so all relative I guess. My clutch is still original at 34k miles, no obvious signs it is going to go any time soon

On another topic, mine is back with JZM next week for a geo. When I picked it up the steering was off centre, slightly right hand down, and the car wanders a little at high speed. Could be tramlining but it's under warranty so they are redoing the geo for me. They suggested a fast road geo was suitable, but I'm keen to see if there's been any recent developments in correctly setting up a GT3 that will only see a track 1-2 times a year at most.

I read -2.5 front camber, slight toe-in and -2.2 rear camber with 12min toe in was about right. ARB somewhere between mid and full stiff. I could just trust them to deliver the right settings of course, I'm sure they know what they are doing.

I changed the clutch and flywheel on mine at 40k miles
Was rattling its arse off and was juddering.

New clutch and flywheel in at rennworks and car is perfect. Although it seems to me that the clutch biting point is still abit too high? Or maybe it’s just me.

Fresh fluid in the clutch pipe and properly bled? Beyond that you can try new slave and master cylinder.
